1 Beyond the Thills excusions Teaches notes Physics is the science of how the wold (and Univese) woks. Luna Pak Sydney is a lage hands-on physics laboatoy full of fee falling objects, otating systems and collisions. A Beyond the Thills excusion to Luna Pak Sydney will allow you students to expeience the thills of the ides and to study the motion, foces and enegy tansfomations on the ides. Obseving the laws of physics in action will allow you students to see that physics is fun, and that it is not just fo geeks. Remembe, if a student is too scaed o has a medical condition that pevents them fom going on a paticula ide(s), they can still make most of thei obsevations and take all of the measuements with both of thei feet fimly on the gound. Remembe, a teified ide will not lean any physics. Students should answe questions fo selected ides, o altenatively, diffeent goups could do diffeent ides and shae thei findings back at school. Physics Depth Study based on using data fom the Stage 6 Physics woksheets A Beyond the Thills excusion is geat fo incopoating in a Depth Study fo Stage 6 Physics - as it can be used to cove a ange of Woking Scientifically skills and syllabus content aeas. At least one depth study must be included in both Yea 11 and Yea 12 incopoating the two Woking Scientifically outcomes of Questioning and Pedicting, and Communicating, plus two additional Woking Scientifically skills outcomes, and futhe development of at least one Knowledge and Undestanding outcome. Beyond the Thills excusions give students an oppotunity to collect fist-hand data on a vaiety of ides at Luna Pak Sydney. The data obseved and collected needs to analysed and pocessed both qualitatively and quantitatively. Teaches ae encouaged to design a Depth Study that entails utilising the data collected fom one o moe ides to futhe exploe one o moe of the syllabus content aeas. Students need to collect thei own data on the day of the excusion and so answes ae not povided fo these woksheets. Students can wok individually o collaboatively to futhe develop one o moe of the concepts in eithe the Yea 11 o Yea 12 syllabuses.
