Berchenius, Made in Denmark. We believe this to be a statuary made by a sculpter to honour Berchenius wife, Edith. It's really lovely...minor chips. Beautiful figure by GOEBEL (same factory as HUMMELS are made). HUMMEL FIGURINES by Sister Berta Hummel. Berta was a 18 year old artist on her way to a "Berlin" convent to study art when she was discovered by William Goebel (a porcelain factory owner). She passed on at the age of 37. These figures are very early examples of her work... "BOOKWORM" item 3/1...issued 1935 at an original price of $6.00. Current value $900 - $1100 US (impressed GW mark). "LETS SING" item 110, 2nd year mark (Large B in V). Current value $325 - $400. Original price in 1950 was $6.00 Also "Little Gardener" item 74 & "Wayside Harmony" item 111 3/0, both reduced by 60% of book value. LLADRO figurine "Lady holding piglet" and 5 pigs at her feet.
