1 ANNALES HISTORICO-NATURALES MUSEI NATIONALIS HUNGARICI T o m u s 70. Budapest 1978 Larentiinae (Lepidoptera, Geometridae) from Mongolia, I. * by A. M. VoJNiTS, Budapest Abstract Discussion o f nine species and subspecies. Ortholitha kaszabi sp. n. and Lithostege coassata mongolica ssp. n. are new to science, while Lithostege coassata ochraceata STGR. is new to the fauna o f M o n g o l i a. W i t h 3 figures. The present paper discusses the first, smaller part o f Larentiinae species collected by Z. K A S Z A B, in M o n g o l i a. The value o f the material is especially enhanced by the fact that the species are represen ted by several, or i n many cases large series o f exemplars. 1. Ortholitha chenopodiata sibirica B A N G - H A A S, 1907 ( D. ent Z. Iris, 20 : 82). The M o n g o l i a n occurrance o f the subspecies sibirica B. - H., described from the M t s. Kentei, has been recorded also by V I I D A L E P P (1975). The species ranges f r o m Europe to the Far East. Collection data. 5 Distribution. Ranging in Mongolia (Mittelgobi aimak, Suchebaator aimak, Uvs aimak. Locus typicus: Somon Delgercogt, 1480 m (Mittelgobi aimak). Subspecific differences. The typical form of the nominate subspecies of L. coassata HBN. is rather disputed; recently exemplars with a heavy pattern are considered typical, while earlier the unicolorous light ones have been regarded as such. From both of these and from all other described forms, the subspecies ochreata Mongolia, and mongolica STGR., occurring also in ssp. n., differ satisfactorily; the distinctness of the latter is substantiated both by external morphological characters and differences in genital configuration. In view of the fact that the genitalia of the Lithostege the comparatively slight (but constant!) divergence is convincing. species are rather of the same cast, Holotype, çf: "Mongolia: Mittelgobi aimak, 20 km S von Somon Delgercogt, 1480 m, Exp.
