2 Equation of state in form P = P (ɛ, n) needed to close the system of hydrodynamic equations P. Hefei School, Dec 14, /34
3 Remark: P = P (ɛ, n) is not a complete equation of state in a thermodynamical sense. A complete equation of state allows to compute all thermodynamic variables. For example, s = s(ɛ, n): ds = 1/T dɛ µ/t dn (1st law of thermod.) 1 T = s ɛ n, P = P (ɛ, n) does not work! µ T = s n ɛ, P ɛ n =? P n ɛ =? P = T s + µn ɛ However, P = P (T, µ) does work! dp = sdt + ndµ s = P T µ, n = P µ T P. Hefei School, Dec 14, /34
