The Hero of Warriors Prologue Long ago, when the world was still being created by the gods, people lived in the clouds. A dark and evil warrior named the Beast wanted to take control of the clouds and make them his evil empire. However, he failed because of two great warriors. One was named Rita, a female warrior that who was believed to be the greatest warrior of all time. The other was only known as the Hero of Warriors. In one battle, Rita was about to be slain by the Beast. The gods, busy making the world, stopped and put some of their power into the Hero of Warrior s sword. The Beast brought back his mace, about to swing it and kill Rita. All of a sudden, the Hero of Warriors jumped in front of the Beast and killed him with the power of the gods in his sword. The people of the clouds were joyous of the Beast s defeat. The humans built monuments and gave gifts to the great warriors. They even named their human race Ritans, after Rita. The Ritans eventually became inhabitants of the world when it was finished and when the gods returned to the heavens. There they created the kingdom of Ritland and crowned the Hero of Warriors and Rita the king and queen. The duo ruled the land with fair laws and they were liked by the people of the kingdom. But eventually, like all humans, the king and queen died. The people of the kingdom mourned for years. The people buried the two in a tomb a few miles away from the castle. The child of the king and queen was then crowned the new king of Ritland.

When the people were collecting the Rita s and Hero s items, they came across the Hero s sword. The people decided not to bury the sword with the king because it contained the power of the gods, and a grave robber could easily steal it. Instead, they built a temple. The temple was tall, and it was right outside the main square of the capital of the kingdom. It was named the Temple of the Hero; anyone could enter it and they could show their respect for the first king of Ritland. At the end of the temple, they made a giant stone door. They hid the Hero of Warrior s sword behind the door. Three colored diamonds were made as keys for the door; one green, one red, and one blue. They were known as the Hero s Diamonds. The diamonds were given secretly to three different people they could trust. The only people who knew where the diamonds were (besides the people they were given to) was the royal family. Many would think that the stone door would never be opened. But, what if I tell you that door has been opened. It has been opened by a young elf at the age of ten years old, and his name was Rinkson. How did Rinkson manage to find the diamonds? That is where our story begins. Chapter One: The Elven Tree Rinkson was an elf that lived in the Elven Woods. He had pale skin, blonde hair, and a long face. Elves acted and looked very similar to the Ritans, but they were created by the Elven Tree. The Elven Tree looks like a giant oak tree, but he was created by the gods. The Elven tree was not an ordinary tree; he had the physical appearance of a tree and he was sessile, but mentally, he was a person. He could speak and he could think. Many people considered him the wisest person in all the land. The Elven Tree created the first elves long before the Ritans left

the clouds. The Elven Tree s leaves fell one fall, and when they hit the ground, the leaves evolved into elves. Elves lived in the Elven Woods, not even a mile away from the Elven Tree. When elves reached the age of eighteen, they left the Elven Woods to go on adventures. No one was there to look after the children, so the Elven Tree created fairies to look after them. Fairies are very small (they are about four inches tall). Fairies could fly using their wings, and they were very wise and smart. A fairy was given to each elf child and they were close friends to them. They also kept them safe and looked after their elf child. However, Rinkson did not have a fairy. He was very lonely and had no friends. He had wanted a fairy all his life. Then when day everything changed in his life. He was sleeping in his tree house (elves lived in tree houses) when a fairy flew up to him and woke him up. Wake up! said the fairy. Huh? What s going on? said Rinkson, waking up suddenly. Who are you? Rinkson said to the fairy. My name is Gina, I have been appointed to you by the Elven Tree! said the fairy. I have a fairy now! I still must be dreaming! replied Rinkson. You re not dreaming, said Gina in fact, the Elven Tree even wants to speak to you! What?! replied Rinkson You must be joking! No joke, replied Gina we have to go now, he said it was important. Rinkson jumped out of bed and put his everyday clothes on: a blue tunic and blue pants with brown boots. Rinkson also found his wooden shield and his small stone sword. He then walked out of his tree house and climbed down the ladder. All the other elf children in the forest looked shocked at Rinkson: he had a fairy. This thought was running through all of their heads:

maybe Rinkson isn t as bad as we thought. Rinkson was no longer the laughing stock of the Elven Woods. Rinkson walked about one half of a mile before he reached the Elven Tree. Gina flew beside him. When Rinkson looked at the Elven Tree, he was amazed. The Tree was at least sixty feet tall. He looked at Rinkson and smiled. years. Ah, young Rinkson, said the Elven Tree thank you, Gina, for bringing him to me. You re welcome. said Gina. Now Rinkson, said the Elven Tree we have been waiting for you for thousands of What do you mean thousands of years? replied Rinkson who s we? That is not important now, said the Elven Tree What s important is my life. I have been infected by spiders, Rinkson, and I need you to slay them before they take my life. How were you infected? replied Rinkson, seeming concerned. A thief has done this to me, said the Elven Tree he came to me in the night, I did not get a good look at his face, but he had a low voice that sends a shiver down your spine. You see Rinkson; I possess a valuable diamond known as the Hero s Diamond. The man demanded I give it to him, but I refused. So he infected me with spider eggs in my roots and he is waiting until I die. Waiting until he can steal the diamond from my dead body. Rinkson, I need you to save me. save me. Why me? replied Rinkson. I will explain later, said the Elven Tree I need you to venture into to my roots and

Rinkson accepted the Elven Tree s proposal, and he found an opening in the ground and he entered. It was a dark and silent labyrinth in the Elven Tree s roots. It was like a cave, but made out of the roots of the Elven Tree. The only light there was the magic glow of Gina the fairy. For a couple hours, Rinkson found no spiders. Then, in the dark, dozens of giant spiders were crawling around. They were at least three feet long. The spiders were frightened from the light of the fairy, so Rinkson could kill them easily. After he killed about sixty of them, he realized there had to be a mother. He wandered around in the roots for another two hours, and then he saw her: the mother spider. She was fifteen feet long and she wasn t frightened by the fairy. Rinkson tried to stab her, but she had too strong of armor. Stabbing her made her angry, and she began to attack Rinkson. Rinkson saw that every inch of her was armored, except her giant glowing eye. Rinkson say his chance and stabbed her right in the eye. She squealed so loudly that Rinkson almost went deaf. The mother fell over dead, and the last of the spiders were killed. Rinkson returned to the surface and he realized it was already sundown. Thank you, said the Elven Tree but I am afraid it is too late. The spiders had poisoned me too much before you killed them. I was doomed even before you came. I am going to die, and nothing can stop it. Rinkson, take the diamond, do not let the man get it. Open the Temple of the Hero and retrieve the power of the gods. Do not let the man get it first. You are spoken in the prophecy. You are the Hero of The Hero of what! said Rinkson What am I? The Elven Tree did not respond. He was dead. A diamond fell from his braches; it was one of the Hero s Diamonds that the Elven Tree told him to take.

Rinkson, said Gina I know what the Temple of the Hero is. It is a temple where the power of the gods is hidden. It can be open by placing the three Hero s Diamonds in front of the door. You have one of them; you just need to find the other two. The evil man who killed the Elven tree must be wanting the power of the gods, and with that power, he could enslave the world! diamonds? Ritland. I have to get the power of the gods before him! replied Rinkson Where are the other Only one family knows the answer to that question, said Gina the royal family of Chapter Two: A Gift to a Hero The royal family lived in their castle, located right outside of the capital of the kingdom. It was a good day s journey from the Elven Woods. Rinkson bought a horse from the stables in the Elven Woods to make the journey shorter. He packed some food and he went off to the capital the next morning. The only way to get to the capital was through the Valley of Ogres. Ogres are very nice, but they can be your worst nightmare if you get on their bad side. Rinkson had to make the ogres his friend if he wanted to pass through the valley. The valley was not a happy and grassy valley. It was like a dessert; it was very hot and it was dry. There was sand instead of grass and the valley was surrounded by cliffs. Even though it was a dessert, the ogres insisted on calling it a valley. Two ogres halted Rinkson when he entered the valley. Stop right there! said the first. If you want to pass, you need to pay a fee! said the second. The two ogres then saw Rinkson s face: they recognized it from legend.

My goodness! said the first. It is the legendary Hero of Warriors! said the second He has returned in a second life, just like the prophecy said! We must take you to our lord! They took Rinkson to the center of the valley, where a small temple stood. They took him inside the temple where the Lord of Ogres sat. The Lord of Ogres was appointed by the king of Ritland. By the gods! said the Lord of Ogres It is the Hero of Warriors! Take my Hero s Diamond. It is a gift to a hero. It will help you on your journey to conquer evil. He gave Rinkson the Hero s Diamond and Rinkson was so confused. He didn t know who the Hero of Warriors was but he didn t care, for he was now allowed to leave the valley and go the capital. Chapter Three: The Princess of Ritland When Rinkson made it to the capital, the people there reacted just like the ogres. They took him right to the castle. The king s most trusted aide was Hugandor. He had dark, sun tanned skin and red hair. He wore red and black robes. When the people brought Rinkson up to the castle, Hugandor was sent out to see what all the commotion was. What is going on here? said Hugandor, in his low voice. It is the Hero of Warriors! He has returned! said a civilian. Hero of Warriors, eh? said Hugandor to Rinkson Tell me son, are you really the Hero of Warriors? Who is the Hero of Warriors? asked Rinkson. The crowd was confused. They couldn t believe that the boy didn t know who he was. Even so, Hugandor took Rinkson to the king.

I do not believe this boy is the Hero of Warriors, said the king first off, he doesn t even know who that is, second, the kingdom is fine and isn t in grave danger, and third, he is only a boy. Rinkson left the castle, but the king s daughter, Princess Helena, came up to him. She had a pink dress and long, blonde hair. I believe you are the Hero of Warriors, she said I know because you are wearing the same clothes that the Hero of Warriors wore and I can see two of the Hero s Diamonds in your pocket. Who is the Hero of Warriors? asked Rinkson. Helena told him the whole story; about Rita and the first Hero of Warriors slaying the Beast, about the Temple of the Hero and the Hero of Warriors sword behind the stone door, and about Hero s Diamonds as the keys to the door. Take this last Hero s Diamond, she said, as she handed a blue Hero s Diamond to Rinkson my family kept it because the only people we could trust were the Elven Tree and the Ogres; since we couldn t find anyone else we could trust, we kept it. At that moment, a horn blew. The horn was an emergency horn, and it was never blown before. The horn was made specifically for one occasion: if the king had been assassinated. Who killed the king? The man he thought he trusted: Hugandor. Hugandor was the man who came to the Elven Tree to steal the diamond. He was plotting to take over the kingdom for years. Why? Because of this reason: Hugandor was the leader of a group of thieves. When all of his thieves were caught, they were sentenced to live on the slopes of a fiery volcano: Fire Mountain. The leader Hugandor was never caught however (no one even knew he was part of

the thieves), but he swore to avenge his thieves, so he became the aide of the king. He spent years gaining the trust of the king just to kill him. When Hugandor stabbed the king in the back, every one fled from the room. That is when someone blew the emergency horn and all the town criers cried this: Hugandor has killed the king! Hugandor has killed the king! Hugandor made his move right that minute because he saw Helena give Rinkson the last Hero s Diamond. After he killed the king, Hugandor realized he needed to get Rinkson, because if Rinkson got his hands on the power of the gods, he would be able to stop Hugandor s plans. That was not the only reason. Hugandor also wanted the power of the gods for himself, so he had to get it before Rinkson. Rinkson realized that Hugandor would come after him, so Rinkson went right to the Temple of the Hero and opened the door, leaving Helena and Gina behind. The Hero of Warrior s sword with the power of the gods stood in front of Rinkson, but Hugandor had followed him into the temple. Hugandor lunged at the sword and Rinkson touched it the same time he did. When Hugandor touched the sword, he flew back out of the room and the stone door closed with Rinkson still inside. The Hero s Diamonds shattered into a million pieces and the stone door could not be opened again. Hugandor didn t care because the Hero of Warriors could not stop him now and he had obtained the power of the gods. Chapter Four: Return of the Hero of Warriors Hugandor took over the kingdom and he freed the thieves from Fire Mountain. The Ritans, elves, and ogres were forced in to slavery. If someone disobeyed Hugandor, he would kill them with a monster he called Rodnaguh. He created the monster with the power of the gods. Nine long years of hardship and slavery passed, and people knew there was no hope, for

the Hero of Warriors was sealed for eternity in the Temple of the Hero. Then, one day, the stone door opened and a nineteen year old Rinkson emerged with the sword of the first Hero of Warriors in his hand. After Rinkson was locked in the Temple of the Hero, the gods tried to open the door again. They could not open it because the door was sealed with the power in the sword, and every single god put power into the sword. They had to collect more power than every god combined to open the door. The gods had to collect as much magic as possible to open the door. Eventually, the gods were able to collect enough power to reopen the door. The gods had to use some power to keep Rinkson alive, so in the end, it took nine years to open the door. When Rinkson came out, he was much more brave and wise. He knew he was the only one who could save the land from evil. Everyone was able to survive and escape slavery lived in a small village a few miles away from the capital (which was now overrun with zombies). There was still one Ritan living in the capital. He lived in a small shack and he collected ghosts. He paid money to people who sold him ghosts. Rinkson found his shack and entered. Are you who I think you are? The man said You re the Hero of Warriors! Are you actually going to save the world this time? I never stopped trying, replied Rinkson where has everyone gone? The man told him about the people living in the village. I am afraid I must not let you leave, said the man pulling out a knife I am loyal to Hugandor and he will give me many ghosts for your head. How about a something else? said Rinkson How about I take your head?!

Rinkson shot a powerful force out of his fingertips and killed the man. Rinkson did this with the power of the gods. When Rinkson was locked up in the Temple of the Hero, he realized Hugandor had only gotten half of the power, and Rinkson got the other half. Rinkson knew he needed to defeat Hugandor with this power and get the other half so he can give the power back to the gods, the n it would be out of the reach of mortals forever. Rinkson then found an old horse wandering around the capital nervously; it was frightened by the zombies. Rinkson was able to tame it and he rode off to the village a few miles away. Chapter Five: The Village of the King When Rinkson reached the village, it was full of many people he recognized from the capital. The village was protected by a magic spell put there by many magicians and wizards. The spell only allowed people who were against Hugandor to enter. When Rinkson entered the village, people were shocked to see someone from the outside world. When they recognized him as the Hero of Warriors, they were furious to see him. Thanks for saving us nine years ago! they shouted sarcastically. Rinkson ignored them and he headed up a hill. The village was on the foot of the hill, and a huge house was on the top. The house belonged to Princess Helena and her brother who was now the king. He wasn t really the king because that title belonged to Hugandor, but the people of the village considered him the true king. When Rinkson entered the house, Helena recognized him right away. It s you! she said The Hero of Warriors! My true name is Rinkson. replied Rinkson call me that Rinkson, I must take you to my brother! she said He will be pleased to see you!

The king was not happy to see Rinkson; he accused him of abandoning his people and letting Hugandor take control of Ritland. The king had green robes and a blonde beard and hair. Hugandor trapped me in the Temple of the Hero, said Rinkson, defending himself he took only half of the power of the gods. Where is the other half? replied the king. I have it, said Rinkson I can prove it too! Rinkson snapped his fingers and all the candles went out. He snapped his fingers again and they lit back up. To give the king even more proof, he showed him the Hero of Warrior s sword. Ah, the sword! said the king It is called the Power Blade, and you have to right to wield it. And if you do, I must ask you one thing: defeat Hugandor. Rinkson agreed to it, but Helena decided to interrupt. I will come too! she said I have been trained to be warrior! No Helena, said the king you must stay safe. I am not a child anymore! she said What do you think Rinkson? Rinkson thought for a while, but then he agreed she would be a good companion. After a few hours, the king agreed too. The king got the two best horses in the kingdom for the duo and they set of towards Hugandor s castle. Chapter 6: Rodnaguh the Beast Hugandor s castle was at the location of the old castle. The castle was rebuilt by the slaves to make it bigger and deadlier. It was surrounded by cannons and guards. The castle itself was made out of black stone and the moat was filled with lava.

When the duo reached the castle, Helena took out the guards with a bow and arrows, and then Rinkson pointed all the cannons at the castle door and fired them. The door broke down and they could get in to the castle. Rinkson cut down a tree with the Power Blade and the duo used it as a bridge to cross over the moat. Hugandor heard the cannon blast and he went up to a guard. What is going on? he asked. I believe someone is breaking into the castle! the guard replied Hugandor was filled with rage so he killed the guard. He went to his tower and looked down. He saw Rinkson chopping down the tree, and he couldn t believe his eyes. He thought for sure Rinkson died in the Temple of the Hero. Hugandor wasn t concerned though; he thought he could kill Rinkson with his beast: Rodnaguh. Rinkson and Helena were running through the castle and killing the guards. Al of a sudden, a familiar voice spoke. Rinkson! shouted Gina the fairy I ve been trying to find you! Gina! replied Rinkson Where have you been? Gina told him that Hugandor had taken her prisoner in the castle because she was the Hero of Warrior s companion. She was not allowed to leave the castle. Hugandor is in his tower, she said it is the tallest one in the castle! Hurry! Go! Rinkson and Helena ran up the longest staircases that led to the tower. Inside, Hugandor was sitting on his throne. Rinkson shot a lightning bolt at him, but he deflected it with his hand. Hugandor was surprised that Rinkson had that kind of power. What you just did explains a lot, said Hugandor you have the other half of the power of the gods. I knew I could be more powerful, and now I will kill you, and become a real god!

After that, Hugandor turned in to a monster. The monster was Rodnaguh. Rinkson and Helena realized that Rodnaguh was the same person as Hugandor, but in monster form. It made sense to them: Rodnaguh was just Hugandor spelled backwards. The weight of Rodnaguh broke the floor and they all fell into the main hall. Rinkson then pulled out the Power Blade and attacked Rodnaguh. Rodnaguh was in pain, but he got right back up and broke the power blade in two. Rinkson then thought there was no hope. Then, he ran up to Rodnaguh and jumped. He bashed Rodnaguh on the head with his shield. Rodnaguh was very hurt. He was losing power, so he turned back into Hugandor. The power of the gods in him went from him to Rinkson. Rinkson did not want to kill him. He wanted him to feel the same pain he did. With the power of the gods, Rinkson shouted you shall stay alive forever and you shall be sealed in the Temple of the Hero, forever! The only one who can kill you is is the Hero of Warriors with the Power Blade! In a flash of light, Hugandor was gone. Rinkson then fixed the Power Blade with the power of the gods. You have done well, Rinkson, said Helena, but in a different voice I am the spirit of Rita, speaking through my descendant. Give me the Power Blade and the power of the gods. I shall find a good place to keep the Power Blade, and I ll return the power to the gods. But first, I shall grant you one wish. You can wish for anything. Rinkson thought. He was a hero for the kingdom, but he remembered his childhood. He also remembered the nine years of his childhood he missed. I wish I had the nine years I missed back! he said. Very well, said Rita you shall have them. Goodbye, Hero of Warriors.

Rinkson was transported back nine years that instant. He was transported to when the people of the capital brought him to the throne of the king. I do not think you are the Hero of Warriors! said the king. May I interrupt, said Rinkson It is about your aide, Hugandor. He plans to murder you and take over the kingdom! Hugandor ran out of the room, realizing that his plan was ruined. The guards chased him and one shot an arrow through his head. Hugandor fell, dead. The people were in shock about what had just happened; they could not believe that the Hero of Warriors saved the kingdom just with a few words. The king apologized to Rinkson for doubting him. The king offered to have Rinkson live in the castle and become prince. Rinkson accepted and everyone celebrated the fall of the evil Hugandor. Rinkson and Helena became good friends when Rinkson was living in the castle. One day, he told Helena how he found out about how he found out about Hugandor s evil plans: how he was sealed in the Temple of the Hero for nine years by Hugandor. Most people would think that he made that story up, but Helena believed him because Rinkson had always been an honest boy. However, there was something bothering Rinkson: Gina had not been seen since he traveled back nine years. Rinkson wanted to find her, for she was the first friend he ever had. One day, he made a decision to go on another adventure. I m leaving now. he told Helena Why? replied Helena I need to find a dear friend of mine, he said I will leave tonight at dusk. If you think that is the best thing to do, she replied but I will miss you.

That evening, Rinkson got his horse and mounted it. He only wanted Helena to see him off. Goodbye, he said to her maybe one day we will meet again. I hope we do. She replied On that note, Rinkson silently rode off in the sunset.
