3 SUMNAR_ Systematic long- hole drilling, at 20-foot intervals wj_tb fans of holes, is continuing to indicate ore grade uranium in the adi ts at El Sherana West. Hovrever, new estimates of ore r eserves cannot be made until more development -vork has been done. The previous inspection v.ras in January, 963. n this report production figures are given for the period between 29th ecember 962 and 23rd March, 963. Ore reserves are cp oted as at Ym.rch, 963o :[. S h-. ;r.. tp_a_ J'le s t No. Adi t - No. Adit drive has been advanced 64 feet to 007 feet from the portal, no ore \vas encountered during drivingo At 34oE a rise was commenced a.nd advanced 68 feet to the limit of ore. 52 tons of ore averaging 8 lbs. u3 o8 ton was recovered during risingo A south-east crosscut was commenced at 500E and advanced 34 feet holing through to No. 2 East rive. A ventilation rise -vras commenced at 64oE and has advanced 94 feet. 000 feet of long hole drilling from this drive failed to find more ore. The No. 2 East rive has been advanced 67 feet to 903 feet and no ore was encountered during driving. At 20E a south cross cut was commenced and advanced 8 feet.. At this point a rise was commenced and advanced 3 7 feet. Another rise was commenced at 70E and advanced 3 6 feet. Nine tone of ore averaging l.r3 lbs. u3 o8 ;ton,.ras recovered during rising.,060 feet of long hole drilling from the No.2 East rive has proved more ore belmv level in No. Adit rive between 80E and 30E. At 80E one long hole cut 20 f eet of ore averaging 28 lbs. u3 o8 ;ton at 75 to 95 feet belmv level. No. 2 Adit The No. East rive was advanced 24 feet to 329 feet feet of long hole drilling has been carried out mainly from East rive but no significant uranium ore has been encountered. JiQ.!.. 3 Adi t A south c6rsscut was commenced at 64oE and advanced 0 feet At 660E a north cr osscut was commenced and advanced to 3 7 feet. 550 feet of long hole drilling from the No. 2 East rive failed to intersect uranium ore.. Open Cut Preliminary work has commenced on the access road to the proposed open cut (Plate 2) and 630 tons of raste has been removed. No. ore shoot No. 2 East rive extends to the surface and 72 tons of ore averaging 4 lbs. u3 o8 ;ton was ga uged bet.veen 4oE and 80E (Plate 2).
