I have been involved in fisheries management, marine protected areas establishment and socioeconomic-political negotiations, working directly with the resource users, the authorities, media and the private sector. Therefore, I have excellent communication skills and enjoy working in interdisciplinary groups. At the same time, I have conducted independent research, which requires initiative and self-motivation. Funded by the UK Darwin Initiative and led by the Charles Darwin Foundation (CDF) and the University of Southampton. In collaboration with Galapagos Park Administration, the Navy s Oceanographic Institute (INOCAR), National Direction of Aquatic Spaces (DIRNEA), Ecuadorian Agency for Quality Assurance (AGROCALIDAD) and University of Dundee. Marine Ecological Monitoring in the Galapagos Marine Reserve Project manager and researcher Organization of activities and coordination of systematization of information. Production of the article Species, Communities and Ecosystems: the role of science for conservation and management of the Galapagos Marine Reserve for the Galapagos Report This is a document directed to Galapagos citizens and designed to stimulate cogent, thoughtful discussion and public policy that will help to protect Galapagos ecosystems and its biodiversity and promote human well-being in the archipelago. Funded by Helmsley Family Trust and led by the Charles Darwin Foundation (CDF). 3 Project: Conservation Agreements for managing spiny lobster fishery at the GSFMR Position Project manager and researcher Description Design together with the local fishermen the conservation agreement that enabled them to create a no-take area in order to recover the overexploited lobster fishery. Fishermen instead of continuing the illegal fishing were employed and capacitated to monitor the lobster population, test new nondestructive and selective fishing techniques and to give talks in the local schools and associations. Supported by and in collaboration with Conservation International, Ecuadorian Fisheries Undersecretary, Navy s Oceanographic Institute (INOCAR), and led by the local fisheries association ArteLangosta and Nazca Institute for Marine Research Project: Marine Ecological Monitoring, Mainland Ecuador, Marine Protected Areas Position Scientific researcher Description Participation of the yearly monitoring activities and systematization of information. Collaboration for methods standardization among national counterparts and other researches and institution in the Eastern Tropical Pacific.
