I have been involved in fisheries management, marine protected areas establishment and socioeconomic-political negotiations, working directly with the resource users, the authorities, media and the private sector. Therefore, I have excellent communication skills and enjoy working in interdisciplinary groups. At the same time, I have conducted independent research, which requires initiative and self-motivation. 3 Project: Conservation Agreements for managing spiny lobster fishery at the GSFMR Position Project manager and researcher Description Design together with the local fishermen the conservation agreement that enabled them to create a no-take area in order to recover the overexploited lobster fishery. Fishermen instead of continuing the illegal fishing were employed and capacitated to monitor the lobster population, test new nondestructive and selective fishing techniques and to give talks in the local schools and associations.
