Introduction I ntnsiv us of colors in vryday lif has cratd a lot of problms both in th nvironmnt and in food []. It is important to mntion that th watr pollution is du to dischargs of txtil industris, and in fd, th toxicity is du to incorporation of svral synthtic dys [2]. To addrss this situation, svral dcontamination mthods hav bn dvlopd, w cit as xampls th adsorption [3,4], ion xchang [,6], coagulation - flocculation [7] tc. In this work, w prsnt th rsults for th adsorption blu mthyln in banana pls powdr. W dtrmind succssivly contact tim and th influnc of paramtrs such as particl siz, th initial concntration of substrat, th mass of th adsorbnt and th tmpratur. Ths studis ar ndd to bttr undrstand th mchanisms govrning th adsorption procss. II. Du to thir simplicity, th kintic modls th most commonly usd ar thos of Langmuir and Frundlich. a) Adsorption Isothrms Th adsorption data from xprimnts wr fittd with: i. Langmuir isothrm [8] Langmuir adsorption isothrm shds no light on th mchanistic aspcts of adsorption. It provids information on uptak capabilitis and also rflcts th usual quilibrium procss bhaviour Th Langmuir non linar quation is: q b. C = q. m () + b. C Whr q is th amount of mthyln blu sorbd pr unit wight of biomass at quilibrium, C is th rsidual quilibrium Dy, q m is th maximum possibl amount of dy adsorbd pr unit wight of biomass and b is th quilibrium constant rlatd to th affinity of th binding sits for th mthyln blu, lowr is b mor is th affinity of mthyln blu to biomass. Rsults and Discussions a) Optimization of mthyln blu adsorption i. Dtrmination of quilibrium tim Th study of th adsorption of mthyln blu on banana pls powdr (PBP), clarly implis th dtrmination of contact tim, tim which corrsponds to th adsorption quilibrium or a stat of saturation of th support th substrat. In this cas, th xprimntal procdur is simpl " batch mthod" which involvs mg / l of mthyln blu with g / l of powdrd banana pls. Analysis by UV/visibl allows us to dtrmin th rsidual concntrations of th substrat at diffrnt raction tims. Thus, th dtrmination of th quilibrium tim, allowd th stablishmnt of adsorption isothrms that ar ssntial for th calculation of th maximum adsorption capacity and to idntify th typ of adsorption to occur ithr in mono or multilayrs. Th rsults obtaind at th nd of ths xprimnts showd that th contact tim rquird for th limination of 9 % of mthyln blu is 4 minuts. Furthrmor, th xtnsion of th tim to ( 9 minuts ) dos not lad to a significant improvmnt of th prcntag rmoval. This justifis th inclusion of this contact tim for othr adsorption xprimnts ( Figur ).This rsult was obtaind by th ratio : C C q = V. t (6) m q: Adsorption capacity of th support ( mg/g ). C : Initial concntration of dy ( mg/l ). C t : Concntration of dy ( mg/l ) at tim t of th adsorption procss. V: Volum of solution ( substrat ). m: Mass of support (g). Othr factors such as th particl siz, th initial concntration of th substrat, th mass of th adsorbnt and th tmpratur may affct th adsorption capacity []. It finds its application in various adsorption modls usd. b) Effct of particl siz To study th influnc of th particl siz of th adsorbnt W choos two typs of fraction, th first fraction having a particl siz lss than 8 microns, and th scond fraction is btwn 8 microns and 2 mm, rsults is shown in fig 2, it is found that th adsorption is fast and rlativly larg for th fin particls (d <8 microns ), this could b xplaind by th fact that th xtnt of adsorption dpnds on th xtrnal surfacs of th particls, Mor th particl siz is small ovr th xchang surfacs ar providd important promoting high spd transfr of dy to th adsorbnt. On considring this, w will continu work with fin particl (d <8 microns). c) Effct of mass of adsorbnt Th influnc of th mass of th adsorbnt was studid in th rang.-.3 g. Th figur 3 shows th variation of th adsorption amount dpnding on th tim chosn for diffrnt masss ;. g,.2 g and.3 g, th mass.g provids rmoval rat which can rach 96%. This ffct, w chos th mass. g, as an optimal wight for th rst of our work. d) Effct of initial concntration Figur 4 shows th influnc of th initial concntration of mthyln blu on th dy adsorption capacity ( th mass of th support bing fixd), it shows that th adsorption capacity is bttr for th high initial concntration of mthyln blu. ) Effct of tmpratur Figur shows th influnc of tmpratur on th adsorption of th dy. Whn w us diffrnt tmpraturs to 4 minuts of stirring, th adsorption capacity of powdrd banana pls ovr tim incrass, th valus obtaind wr Q = mg / g at 22 C. Th xprimntal rsults show that this paramtr dos not affct th adsorption rtntion of mthyln blu on th support of th study procss. f) Adsorption Isothrm Adsorption isothrms play an important rol in dtrmining th maximum capacity and in dtrmining th typ of adsorption front is produir.ells ar obtaind first by th knowldg of th tim and thn th graphical prsntation of Q = f (C) and Q Ths ar rspctivly th amount of adsorbd dy pr g of adsorbnt and th quilibrium concntration of this colorant.ls xprimntal rsults obtaind show that th S-typ is isothrmal, which classification coorspond 24 Global Journals Inc. Low valus of paramtr b indicat that banana pls powdr hav high affinity for mthyln blu. h) Frundlich isothrm Th valus of quilibrium rlation paramtr, n wr calculatd for two Frundlich modl s, th rsults is shown in tabl, n valus is high than so th mthyln blu adsorption was not wll fittd with Frundlich modl and Th low valus of maximum adsorption capacitis obtaind from th Frundlich modl, confirm that th molcul of Mthyln Blu is not strongly adsorbd insid th pors bcaus of its siz. Th main paramtrs charactrizing ach modl ar summarizd in Tabl. Th rsults shown in Figurs 7 and 8 show that th adsorption of Mthyln blu on banana pls powdr ( PBP ) follow th two linar modls Frundlich and Langmuir. Giving it a rlativly larg affinity with rspct to pls Banana Powdr (PBP). Th ffct of particl siz, th mass of th adsorbnt and th adsorbat concntration had a positiv influnc on th capacity and kintics of rtntion Mthyln Blu on our support study.
