1 33 1 Vol. 33 No SHANGHAI NONFERROUS METALS March Ⅱ-Ⅵ Ⅱ-Ⅵ CdSe Ⅱ-Ⅵ Ⅱ-Ⅵ CdSe TN A Fabrication and Biomedical Applications of Ⅱ-Ⅵ Core-shell Quantum Dots GE Mei-ying WEI Diao-xing WU Jie SUN Yan National Laboratory for Infrared Physics Shanghai Institute of Technical Physics Chinese Academy of Sciences Shanghai China Abstract Ⅱ-Ⅵ quantum dots showed specific optical properties comparing to the convertional fluorescent dye due to strong quantum confined effect. They high quantum yield broad absorption with narrow symmetric photoluminescence PL spectra high resistance to photobleaching and exceptional resistance to photo-and chemical degradation. Here we report the synthesis and optical characterization of CdSe quantum dots as well as the surface modification and photochemical instability.
