This creates tension and pressure, but these aren t bad days. Often we need pressure or the right amount of stress in order to raise our game or fight that little bit harder. If we didn t have these Kuoyt days, we would fall into a state of complacency, so they keep us on our toes. Despite the fact that they might bring some pressure and tension, these are conditions that also bring opportunities. 2

3 9th House Travel, Exploration, Learning, Study and Freedom Power Dates: 2nd, 15th, 16th, 29th and 30th April 9th House rules: This is the most adventurous area of your chart, ruling travel, learning, knowledge, discovery, curiosity, adventure and higher learning. The Ninth House also rules publishing, philosophy, richer experiences, the search for meaning and truth and all things global, international or foreign. Ruled by Jupiter, this is a larger than life part of your chart, where life becomes richer and the journey becomes more important than the destination. A low tolerance to boredom and routine brings a hunger to explore fresh trails and go in search of new adventures or meaning. So what s happening here this month? The gods seemed to be in a hurry this year, with the annual push that adventurous matters get in February/March each year not only having started early, but having finished early as well. While the spirit of wanderlust, curiosity and adventure will never fully go off the boil, not with Neptune here until 2026 and Chiron until 2019, the most active months of any year will be around the time of the Sun s visit to your sector of learning, travel, adventure and discovery from the 19th February to the 21st March, with Venus and Mercury extending this out by several days or weeks either side. Last year while the Sun, as is always the case, left on the spring/autumn equinox, which falls on or around the 21st March each year Mercury, who didn t even arrive until the 18th March didn t leave until the 8th April and Venus, who didn t return until the 6th April didn t leave until the 3rd May. At the beginning of April 2014 things were still very active in terms of the annual update a sense of adventure and curiosity will get at this time every year and would remain so throughout April and into early May. So by ordinary standards the annual push has finished early, but in the same token they also not only got off the ground earlier, giving you a head start but were kicked off by Mars, who last year didn t return to your sector of learning, travel, adventure and discovery at all. In 2014 while things extended out until early May they never got moving until the Sun returned on the 19th February, as he does at this time every year, throwing the solar spotlight on your options and choices, revealing there is more to life than simply going through the motions. This year this active phase kicked off when Mars, planet of passion and the warrior planet of the cosmos returned on the 12th January, fuelling a passion for adventure and a hunger for life's richer experiences and getting things fired up in a way that they haven t been since he was last here, in early This pushed everything forward and put a lot more passion and courage into things, to a point where the gods were able to get in early, fire up your passion for adventure and a hunger for life's richer experiences, cement your desires and expectations and during Mercury s short visit, from the 13th March to the 31st March a chance to walk the talk, turning desires and expectations into a game plan. 3

4 However, the most active months of the year for adventurous matters and the push to get you out of your comfort zone is over by the time you move into April, with a heavy accent on just, with Mercury having left less than 24 hours earlier. This allows you to move into April with a sense of wanderlust, curiosity and adventure, ready to embrace change, begin new journeys and experience life to the full, as you ease things back to the course they will continue on. Of course now that the faster moving planets have completed their annual update and in Mars case his biennial update, Neptune and Chiron won t go back to the status quo and to where things were before Mars returned on the 12th January, for their story has changed during that time. As each planet moved through your sector of learning, travel, adventure and discovery they aligned with Neptune, planet of dreams and fantasies and during each encounter gave you a chance to update your dreams and aspirations, through their particular filter. For example Mars alignment was a chance to align your dreams and passions, Venus alignment was a chance to align your short term desires and expectations with your long term dreams and aspirations, the Sun allowed you to run all these through a reality check and finally Mercury, a chance to turn all this into a game plan. During that time your sense of what you expect from life in terms of moving out of your comfort zone would have been updated and redefined, so the dreams Neptune will continue to foster for another 12 years are likely to be different than they were 3 months ago, with a chance again next year to do the same. At the same time each planet also aligned with Chiron, planet of healing, adding their different qualities to an ongoing mission to learn from the past. April is the month where life will not only get back to normal but to a new normal, with a chance to process what has been an active few months, taking on board all that has transpired and committing to remaining vigilant for signs that you re slipping back into your comfort zone again, the future and the journey ahead. You had a chance to do that during last month s total solar eclipse, with this the month when the real journey begins. The Moon will make its first visit to your sector of learning, travel, adventure and discovery since this annual push ran its course from the 15th April to the 17th April, engaging your emotional, intuitive and imaginative responses and triggering a sense of wanderlust, curiosity and adventure, with an alignment with Neptune on the 15th April and Chiron the 16th April a chance to regroup. 10th House Career and Professional goals and ambitions, success Power Dates: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 15th, 17th, 18th, 19th and 20th April 10th House rules: Here the focus is on your career and your professional and personal drives and ambitions, the concept of striving for success, the ability to remain focused and to see 4

The ancients called this the House of Fame and Public Recognition ; with all the focus, discipline and behind the scenes determination that goes into achieving success through setting a goal and seeing it through. Ruled by Saturn, the Tenth House is all about the dedication it takes to succeed, setting goals and remaining committed, disciplined and determined. So what s happening here this month? With the Sun always spending the first 3 weeks of April in your career sector the focus will always be on career matters at this time of year, shining the solar spotlight on your professional situation, matters and options. This is when your annual professional review takes place, where there are no shadows for anything to hide, everything becomes more transparent and is simply a time of year when the focus is always on getting things set onto a new course. While for others a new professional year might begin in January, for you it is usually not until March and April that things start to come together professionally. There are two things that you can count on for sure, one is that the Sun will always move through your career sector from the 21st March to the 20th April each year and the other that since 2011 Uranus, planet of surprise, synchronicity and the unexpected is here 365 days a year, working behind the scenes to keep the laws of synchronicity in play, unexpected developments unfolding and triggering Eureka moments and will do until he leaves in The other things you can be sure of is that Venus and Mercury will return around this time, but in a way that is a lot more vague and that Mars will return every other year, again around this time. Last year Mars didn t return at all, Venus didn t return until May, after the Sun had been and gone and Mercury didn t return until the 8th April, by which point you were into the second half of your annual review. This created a situation where this was not only staggered and drawn out, but Venus and your heart didn t get a say until after your annual review was over and the track that your professional year would take was all but set in concrete. It was also last April that we experienced the Grand Cross that I for one still refer back to a year on, so challenging was it. With Mars in your home and family sector, opposing sign to your career sector for almost 8 months and pressure from both Jupiter and Pluto for much of that time, career matters not only got a bare minimum of support and very low quality support, it was in the face of a lot of both personal and/or relationship and work/life balance tension and challenges. It s no wonder then that Venus, who didn t return until after the fact last year and Mars, who didn t return at all were determined to not let that happen this year, arriving within 24 hours of each other on the 20th/21st February. Venus left on the 17th March, before the Sun even got here, managing to cement your professional desires and expectations before your annual review and update even began, getting in on the ground floor in order to influence the coming year. Mercury, who returned on 31st March is not only still here as you move into the new month but the 1st April is his first full day and also the day that Mars leaves, with the two spending less than 24 hours together. It s as though Mars, planet of passion and the warrior planet of the cosmos was waiting for Mercury s return and for his intellectual savvy to kick in before leaving on the 1st April, though like Venus before him not before first fuelling 5

6 your professional passions and fighting spirit, which will also have an impact on the coming year. Mercury isn t here for long and will leave on the 15th April, which is the typical length of a Mercury visit. Mercury retrogrades three times a year and when he does, instead of spending 15/16 days in an area of your chart he ll spend over 2 months, as was the case when he moved through your financial sector from the 5th January to the 13th March. I have been writing horoscopes for 18 years and during that time I have yet to find a Mercury retrograde period that didn t smack of divine intervention, with the planet of communication and smart thinking retrograding where and when his support is needed. When I see Mercury fly through an area of your chart with what is a quick once over, to me this sends a message that says you don t need me, but I m here for a few weeks to help you get your head in the game, to help with talks, anything that requires intellectual savvy and to help you make choices, decisions and plans. By the time Mercury returns Venus and Mars will have done a good job of fuelling your professional desires, passions and fighting spirit, the Sun will have the spotlight on career and professional matters and there is a massive amount of support from Jupiter in your income sector and Saturn in your work sector. Whereas April is a month where, with the Sun having just returned on the 21st March things are just starting to move, this year things are already in the end game and by the time the Sun leaves on the 20th April, 2 months to the day after Mars returned to kick things off, this annual update will be over. Last year this started late, never really got off the ground and finally fizzled out at the end of May. This year things started with fireworks, continued strong and until Mercury leaves on the 15th April you ll have a chance to keep your head in the game, communication lines open and ideas on the table, working with the Sun over the coming 5 days to throw the solar spotlight on all your situations, matters and options before your annual review runs its course. Of course Uranus, here from 2011 until 2019 and the South Node, here from February 2014 to November 2015 will keep the momentum going, but as far as the push to get this professional year off the ground and on the right track you re already in the final phase and in the process of tying up loose ends, bringing things home and getting a clear sense of where things stand by the time you move into April. While the North Node is over in your home and family sector, working with the South Node here in your career sector to keep things balanced, especially when it comes to work/life balance, as the lunar nodes aren t physical objects and are the point where the Earth s orbit around the Sun is intercepted by the Moon s orbit around the Earth, you re not going to get the pressure you get from a planetary opposition, but there will be just enough to keep things balanced. The North Node is trying to pull home and family matters forward one way and the South Node is trying to pull career matters back the other way, not so much cancelling out each other but in what is a tug of war where there is even strength on both sides and everything is held steady. When the planets move through either your career or your home and family sector what you effectively have is a tug of war that is no longer evenly matched, with more players on one side. That has been the case since the lunar nodes returned here last February, with Uranus on the South Node s team and no planets in your home and family sector, though that wasn t the case last year when Mars spent nearly 8 months 6

7 there. However, over time the lunar nodes have adjusted to that and because the South Node is connected to the past and the North Node to the future, the past may have a greater hold on you. As the planets return to your career sector even more muscle is put into career and professional matters and this is something that the North Node, working on its own to keep home and family matters balanced can t compensate for, with a danger that things could get out of balance. Except for the fact that there is a safety feature designed into this, with a total lunar eclipse in your home and family sector on the 5th April temporarily shifting a huge amount of weight onto career matters, in order draw things back to a balanced state. This is a super charged Full Moon and as the second total lunar eclipse here in as many years, many of the things that came to a head during last year s total lunar eclipse will come full circle this year, bringing both home and career matters to a head, turning and/or tipping point. There will be one final lunar eclipse next year just to round things off, but this is when any work/life balance issues will play out, able to use this as leverage on both fronts. This is the Full Moon that determines when Easter falls each year for every country in the world apart from New Zealand, where it peaks at 1.05 am on Easter Sunday morning on the 5th April it will peak on Saturday 4th April. The rule of thumb with a lunar eclipse is that if you can see the Moon you ll see the eclipse, creating a giant Easter egg in the skies over Easter weekend. Apart from that there are no challenges for the planets moving through your career sector this year and with Venus and Mars having invested so much, Mercury here until the 15th April keeping your head in the game and the Sun continuing to throw the spotlight on your career situation, matters and options until leaving on the 20th April, you ll not only be ready to respond to any challenges or wakeup calls the lunar eclipse brings. It s in the Sun s final days that the Moon will return to your career sector, returning on the 17th April and aligning with the Sun just before leaving on the 19th April, creating this month s New Moon. With the Sun leaving on the 20th April, a New Moon in the last full day of your annual review and just a day before your annual update and review ends, this will bring a chance to draw a new line in the sand, committing to your new professional year, the future and the journey ahead. It s once the Sun leaves that things will go back to where they were before Mars and Venus returned on the 20th/21st February, albeit a new normal, where you re a lot more sure of what you re striving for and working towards, with your professional desires, passions and fighting spirit banked. With Uranus and the South Node staying on and continual support from Jupiter in your income sector and Saturn in your work sector there s no danger of things falling asleep at the wheel once this planetary push is over or of losing your momentum anytime soon, not with the laws of synchronicity remaining in effect. 4th House Home, Family and Property 7

8 Power Dates: 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 18th, 19th and 20th April 4th House rules: The Fourth House rules all things related to home, family, property, your lifestyle, home life and all things domestic, including your routines, rituals and daily habits. It also rules your roots, your heritage, parents, ancestry and where you come from. These are the foundations of your life, the basic day to day routines that allow you to function in an often confusing world, your soft place to fall, your sanctuary and your refuge. Ruled by the Moon, your emotions often come into play here, regardless of the planets involved and often some pressure or challenges. So what s happening here this month? While the lunar eclipse on the 4th/5th April is a minor distraction for the forces in play in your career sector this is not only a major event for forces here in your home and family sector, it is THE event of the month, the point where home and family matters get their own back, able to take a stand and quite literally grandstand every other planet in the solar system and falling over Easter is bound to get your attention. It is not a coincidence that this eclipsing Full Moon should fall over Easter and more the reason why Easter is falling when it does each year. While Easter is celebrated by Christians as the resurrection of Christ and as a day for religious significance, it is actually a pagan ceremony that the early Christians, as they often did, took over as their own. In those early days pagan rituals were well established and they all had their roots in the astronomical and agricultural seasons. Easter, as we have come to know it today was always celebrated on the first Full Moon after the spring equinox, celebrating the start of spring, the end of winter and the rebirth that was to follow. The chicken emerging from the egg was a symbol for the bringing birth of new life, which is why we have Easter Eggs today. The spring equinox (the autumn equinox for those of us down under), falls on or around the 21st March each year, the day that a new astrological cycle begins with the Sun s return to Aries, the first of the 12 signs and your career sector. Easter is always celebrated on the first Sunday after the first Full Moon after the Sun returns to your career sector, so will always fall here in your home and family sector. This means that Easter can fall as early as the 21st/22nd March or as late as the 20th April, depending on when this Full Moon falls. While it is already Sunday when the Full Moon falls it is only just, peaking at 1.05 am New Zealand time, that means for every other country in the world, including Australia (with no other country less than 2 hours behind us), this will be Saturday the 4th April and the first Sunday is the very next day, giving us not just a Full Moon over Easter weekend itself, but a dazzling total lunar eclipse. While we will always have a Full Moon here at this time of year and this will always determine when Easter falls, this isn t always a lunar eclipse and especially a total eclipse. The reason that this is an eclipsing Full Moon is the same reason that the Full Moon last Easter was also a total lunar eclipse, because the North Node is here in your home and family sector. 8

9 The lunar nodes, the North Node here in your home and family sector and its partner the South Node over in your career sector aren t physical objects and can t be seen with a telescope, for they are the gravitational points in the heavens, where the Earth s orbit around the Sun is intercepted by the Moon s orbit around the Earth. Twice a year, sixth months apart the Sun will line up with one of the Nodes, sitting right on the path that the Moon is due to cross, so when the Moon does cross that same point, they will literally cross paths, with the Moon crossing in front of the Earth, temporarily blocking out the Sun s light from reaching its surface, with the Earth s shadow seen crossing the face of the Moon during the duration of the Full Moon, which takes several hours to unfold. If it s dark outside and you can see the Moon you can see this Full Moon, but expect it to unfold slowly. For those of us down under, this will begin playing out on the Saturday evening of Easter weekend in New Zealand, the same weekend that Daylight Savings end and we get an extra hour sleep in, the perfect excuse for an evening on the deck, down at the beach or with friends, watching this, one of nature s best displays. This is more than the potential for some stunning star gazing and whether you witness this total lunar eclipse or not it will not only be felt but serves an important purpose. As a Full Moon this is a challenge that the planets moving through your career sector will get each year, bringing a reminder that professional success can t be at the expense of your home life and therefore forcing you to work smarter. At the same time, as this falls halfway between the Sun s last visit to your home and family sector and the next and therefore at the least active point in the year for home and family matters, this is a chance to give things closer to home some much needed attention. We need to add an another layer due to the fact because this is not just a lunar eclipse but a total lunar eclipse, that it s falling very close to the North Node, giving it a voice and all that it has been pulling and drawing you towards since as far back as February The North Node is an auspicious energy and is similar in make up to lucky Jupiter and in a chart is a very lucky omen, with its symbol the horseshoe a modern symbol for good luck. The North Node goes by names such as future or destiny point, which illustrates its importance, as a draw towards a future and opportunities that can t be seen, but you re being drawn towards. With the fear of the unknown a basic human fear, this can be scary following with blind faith a sense of direction that is pulling you down paths and into futures unknown, yet needs to be trusted. Had this been a lunar eclipse connected with the South Node, as was the case when the South Node was last in your home and family sector from December 2004 to June 2006 then it would bring things from the past to a head, turning and/or tipping point and while the North Node is associated with luck, good fortune, the destiny and the future the South Node is associated with the past, so was a very different eclipse. Here this lunar eclipse creates a crack in time for the future to reach out and grab you, fast tracking things that could otherwise have taken months or years to unfold and basically, like the board game snakes and ladders, landing you at the foot of a very large ladder. As with all lunar eclipses there s a need to take your hands off the wheel, letting things unfold naturally and letting fate do its thing. At the same time, as this is still a 9

10 Full Moon, which is formed by an opposition between the Sun and Moon, this is likely to create some work/life balance tension, highlight what is likely to have been an ongoing battle for balance between your home and professional lives for several years now. The Moon will return to your home and family sector on the 3rd April and will leave on the 6th April, aligning with the North Node just a few hours before the lunar eclipse in the early hours of the 5th April New Zealand time (the 4th April everywhere else), making it important to have your finger on the pulse and ear to the ground throughout that time. These will be the most important days of the month for home and family matters and for all things close to home and falling over Easter this is where the focus will be over the long weekend. 11th House Friendships, Teamwork and Hopes and Wishes Power Dates: 1st, 10th, 11th, 12th, 15th, 20th, 21st, 22nd and 23rd April 11th House rules: Here it is all about friendship, teamwork, networking, inventiveness, camaraderie, togetherness, being part of a group, team or society, neighbourhoods, communities, clubs, organisations or affiliations. The Eleventh House is about strength in numbers, playing your part in society, being a friend, a team player, showing kindness and generosity to others. Ruled by Uranus, the Eleventh House is all about realising that no man (or woman) is an island. It s about being part of society, feeling connected, a need to belong. It is about humanity and Aquarian principles, which sees the world as a global village. So what s happening here this month? Until now, not just in terms of this Report but for several months, each chapter in these Reports have chronicled ongoing dynamics in areas of your chart that have been active for several months, if not years. By that I mean while the annual planetary push in your sector of learning, travel, adventure and discovery ran its course late last month and the same will happen in your career sector this month, nothing will actually end, with major planets in each continuing to keep the momentum going. Yes the conditions change as the month s progress but this is part of a much bigger journey. In the next two chapters (this and the one immediately below) we have what I call fresh blood. Here there is no ongoing planetary activity and when these annual updates end there will be no planets staying behind to keep things in motion, creating a situation where this is it, that you can t afford to put things off with the time to focus and pay attention being right now. It was Venus return to your friendship sector on the 17th March that brought the first planetary activity of the year and in fact since she herself left last May, wrapping up last year s annual update. While the solar spotlight will always fall onto social matters in April, this isn t usually until the Sun returns on the 20th April or close to that. By the time Venus returned last month to fuel your desires and expectations, trigger the 10

11 laws of attraction and synchronicity the Sun and your annual update were still another month away. Apart from the Moon s visit during Venus early days, giving you a chance to use your heart and hunches to put you in the right place at the right time, the planet of love, desire and attraction has been on her own. This is a real coup for Venus, who last year didn t return until the 29th May, after the Sun had been and gone, after your annual update was over and after much of what would unfold on the social front over the coming year was cemented. As the last planet to move through your friendship sector last year Venus did leave you with a clear sense of where your heart stands and of what you want from your social life and matters, but with no other planets following behind her and Saturn in opposition there was little you could do in order to turn desires into reality or keep the momentum going. This year things are very different, firstly because Saturn is no longer in Scorpio, opposing sign to your friendship sector and therefore you won t have to face the tensions, pressures and challenges of the past and with the Sun not returning to begin your annual review and update until the 20th April, this gives your heart the first rather than the last say. However, the biggest advantage for Venus will be Mars, planet of passion and the warrior planet of the cosmos return to your friendship sector on the 1st April, making his first visit since April/May With Venus not leaving until the 12th April their presence together will put a stamp on the early days of the month, reuniting after being separated when Venus left your career sector on the 17th March. While Venus has already had 2 weeks to cement your desires and expectations, as Mars returns to fuel your competitive, team and fighting spirit this is likely to raise the bar, with Mars warrior energy likely to boost your confidence and give you the courage to reach out. This also means that unlike last year, when Venus leaves your friendship sector on the 12th April she knows that your social life and matters are in safe hands, with Mars not only staying behind to keep you motivated and the momentum going, but Mercury returning on the 15th April to get the communication lines open and the Sun on the 20th April to begin your annul review and update, throwing the solar spotlight on your social situation and matters. Last year nothing happened until the Sun got here and even when it did, with every planet that moved through your friendship sector having to contend with an opposition with Saturn there was not only never a chance for them to really work as a team, they spent their time under pressure. Mars won t leave until the 12th May, exactly a month after Venus departure and with Mercury not leaving until the 1st May and the Sun until the 21st May, this gives you plenty of time to work with and on the desires and expectations she gets the ball rolling with, making it important to move into the month willing to trust and follow your heart, trusting also that there is back up on the way. For it s by following your heart that you re more likely to experience the serendipitous moments or encounters Venus is more likely to trigger while she s here, than at any other time in the year. There isn t a moment this month that there won t be planetary activity here in your friendship sector, the only full month this year that this will be the case, making this 11

12 an important month for social matters. However, as the month progresses the planets will work as a team, sometimes together but always having another planet to pass the ball to. Venus will not have any direct contact with the Sun and Mercury, who will both return after she leaves, but the desires and expectations she leaves you with will not only be kept fuelled by Mars until they get here, he ll add his competitive, team and fighting spirit into the mix. This annual update, beginning with Venus return on the 17th March and ending with the Sun s departure on the 21st May, will begin with desires and expectations, which will transform into passions and a fighting spirit, before coming under the influence of Mercury who will provide the support and articulation needed to ensure the communication lines are open and the Sun who will return to keep things real and authentic. The Moon will move through your friendship sector from the 19th April to the 21st April, after Venus has left but while Mars is here, during Mercury s early days and leaving during the Sun s first full day will be here, triggering your instincts and your emotional, intuitive and imaginative responses during what will be a crossover point in the month, when Venus and Mars desires, passions and fighting spirit are meeting the more strategic and practical forces needed to follow things through. While the Moon will be here when the Sun returns, returning a day before the Sun and moving 12 times faster, there is no way that they can align and create a New Moon, something that instead happens next month, but you ll get the essence of during the early hours of the Sun s month long visit. It s important to remember that when the Sun, Mercury and Mars leave your sector of friendship, teamwork and networking next month there ll be no more planetary activity here until next April, with Mars not returning until 2017 and as the only month this year that will have continuous planetary activity the time to focus on social, friendship, team, group and personal and professional networking matters is now. 12th House Waiting, Preparation, Subconscious Mind End of a cycle Power Dates: 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th, 19th, 20th, 21st, 22nd and 23rd April 12th House rules: The last of the 12 Houses is all about endings, internal focus, the subconscious mind, daydreaming and introspection. For a planet to be in your Twelfth House they are at the end of a cycle that begins in the First House, with the focus on bringing one cycle to an end, before a new cycle can begin, closing old doors in order for new doors to eventually open. Ruled by Neptune, planet of dreams and fantasy, this is the realms of the subconscious and your intuition. Where Mercury and the Third House rule the intellectual mind, here the focus is on the intuitive, subconscious and spiritual mind and your dreams, intuition and imagination. Here you are moving through a watershed period, as the past begins to make way for the future. So what s happening here this month? 12

There is not only planetary activity here in your sector of subconscious thinking, imagination and review for the first time since last July, but a month earlier than you would normally expect, the kind that comes with a lot more pleasure and a lot less responsibility. When a planet moves through your sector of subconscious thinking, imagination and review it is always a watershed time, bringing you to the end of one cycle and to the brink of a brand new cycle, with one door closing and a new door about to open, when they return to your sign. Otherwise known as the 12 th House, because it s the last of the 12 houses a planet must move through before returning to your sign, this marks the end of a process and also the beginning of a new era, for as you're wrapping up you're also preparing to move on. It s a little like shifting house in that in your old house you're packing boxes, throwing away accumulated junk that you now have a chance to clear out rather than take with you and you're cleaning up, ready to leave the house you've been living in and all the life experiences behind. Yet at the same time you're also preparing to move somewhere and you will also have that new house in mind as well, full of fresh hope and new beginnings, so as well as an ending it s also a beginning, even though that new beginning hasn t happened yet. With no ongoing planetary activity here, you don t have direct access or permission to spend much time navel gazing and while this is something you usually have to wait until later in May to begin, with the Sun s return on the 21st May beginning the month long wind down of your current solar year, this year you ve had a chance to get in early. It is Venus return on the 12th April that will give the planet of love a chance to take your heart on a nostalgic trip down memory lane, without the Sun s more serious agenda and all the housekeeping that will take place once you begin winding down your old solar year. Venus, who will leave and return to your sign on the 8th May, will be gone by the time that begins, with her stay all about enjoying all the pleasures that this intuitive and imaginative part of your chart can provide, while escaping all its responsibilities. This is extremely early in the year to find any planet here let alone Venus, who last year didn t return until the 24th June. With the Sun, Mercury and Mars not returning until next month, Venus will spend almost all her time here on her own and during none of that time will she be roped in to help with the more mundane housekeeping tasks that the wind down of your old solar year will require. Venus isn t interested in the mundane aspects the Sun will focus on, with a chance to enjoy some much needed relaxation, time to escape into your memories, daydreams and enjoy the nostalgic trip down love's memory lane she ll take you on. If this sounds too good to be true and you re wondering what the catch is, there is one and a fairly large one, in that you have Saturn on the other side of the sky in your work sector, demanding that you also keep your work hat on. This isn t something that can t be worked with, especially as Venus and Saturn will move into opposition 13

14 fairly soon after she returns on the 12th April, moving into opposition on the 15th/16th April. Saturn is spending his first full month in retrograde motion in your work sector so you need to slow down and pace yourself anyway. This will force you to adopt smart thinking, especially with so much still unfolding on the career front. There is no reason why you can t enjoy Venus presence, you just do it in your own time and in your downtime, having your work and professional hats on when you need to, taking care of family and other responsibilities as they arise, but escaping into your daydreams and into a nostalgic trip down memory lane when you get a chance. Chances are you ve perfected the art of getting lost in your daydreams while still looking to those around you that you re fully engaged and paying attention, a trick most Cancereans perfect at an early age. Though as a Cancerean who recently read my old school reports I may have been a little slow on the uptake, because most reports state that I d do better if I didn t daydream in class! There will be more serious demands here next month, but in the meantime enjoy Venus time here on her own for what it is, a welcome opportunity for some escapism, some quality and guilt free daydreaming and navel gazing and maybe a chance to slow down a little. 6th House Work, Employment and Health Power Dates: 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 15th, 16th and 21st April 6th House rules: The ancients called this the House of Service to others. This is the busiest part of your chart, where the focus is on work, employment, service, duty, responsibility, hard work, productivity, health, time management and self sacrifice, whether in paid or unpaid service. Here the focus is on doing what has to been done now, rather than putting things off, bringing a sense that you can rest later. When your Sixth House is active you will be busy, with a lot on your plate and a lot of demands on your time. This is also a time to address any health, wellbeing, time management and energy issues. Ruled by Mercury in his most practical form, this is all about productivity. So what s happening here this month? Where Venus has plenty of support as she moves through your sector of subconscious thinking, imagination and review so too does Saturn here in your work sector, who in the early days of the month is sharing a special bond with lucky Jupiter, in retrograde motion in your income sector. During the 24 day period from Saturn s retrograde turn on the 15th March and Jupiter s direct turn on the 9th April they ll both be in retrograde motion at the same time, holding the doors open to second chances and untapped potential on the work and income fronts. While Jupiter visits your income sector once every 12 years and Saturn your work sector once every 3 decades, the last time they met up like this, let alone were in retrograde motion at the same time was in 1956, so this is a big deal. 14

15 Saturn only returned to your work sector on Christmas Eve and in that time he s only covered 4 degrees and as he travels in a pattern where he moves 10 degrees forward, 7 degrees back, 10 degrees forward, 7 degrees back and so on, spending 5 months of each year in retrograde motion this means that 7 degrees back will take him back out again, something that will happen on the 15th June. It s not until Saturn turns direct in July that he ll begin the trek back, returning on the 18th September, this time staying until December The period from the 24th December 2014 to the 15th June 2015 was always going to be an exploratory visit, aimed at getting a sense of where things stood since he was last here, in Saturn is the hard task master of the cosmos and when he returns in September the mission to invest into not only work but life demands and the balance this will require in terms of managing your time and keeping healthy and what this will require from you will begin, but he s still establishing what you need to work on or in. It s been 3 decades since you ve had Saturn in retrograde motion in your work sector, making this the most important and significant review of your work situation, how and when you spend your time and of your job itself in 3 decades. From his retrograde turn on the 15th March to his departure exactly 3 months later on the 15th June Saturn will retrace his steps, recovering the same ground he d covered over the previous 3 months, giving you a chance to revisit, review and reflect, going back to something from the past or simply using the 20/20 hindsight this provides. Saturn won t have a lot of heavy demands, other that you look back with honesty, taking responsibility for the past and also the present, with his retrograde phase also demanding that you slow down, work smarter and spend time looking back through the rear view mirror. This is also a chance to revisit the past or something from the past to come back to you, in a way that is likely to ask along, call for a real commitment but come with a lot of rewards if you re prepared to put in the hard work and effort. Apart from an opposition with Venus on the 15th/16th April Saturn has nothing but support, not only from his buddy Jupiter, in retrograde motion in your income sector until the 9th April, but also from Uranus, in your career sector throughout Saturn s time here in your work sector, from Mars until he leaves on the 1st April, Mercury until he leaves on the 15th April and the Sun until he leaves on the 20th April. That support will peak when Venus is in opposition, creating an opportunity to use this as a chance to work smarter. 2nd House Income, Earnings and Self Value Power Dates: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 6th, 7th, 9th, 26th, 27th and 28th April 2nd House rules: The ancients called this the House of earned income and self value and rules your income, earnings, your sense of self value, entitlement, believing in yourself, standing up for your rights, a sense of expectation, entitlement and indulgence. Ruled by Venus, the Second House is all about what you value and how you set your priorities, not only on the income front but across all the currencies in your life. This is an 15

16 abundant area of your chart where there is often a gain in income or material resources. Ruled by Venus, the guiding principles here are desire, higher expectations and the laws of attraction. So what s happening here this month? While Saturn is just beginning his retrograde phase, here Jupiter s retrograde phase in your income sector, one that began last December, is just coming to an end. It s in the early days of the month and until Jupiter turns direct on the 9th April that he ll share a special bond with Saturn, in retrograde motion in your work sector, holding the doors open to the past, untapped potential and second chances on both fronts, at the same time. While Saturn s mandate will be more serious as the planet of luck and expansion, Jupiter has been retracing his steps since turning retrograde on the 9th December, with that retrograde phase ending exactly 4 months to the day later, on the 9th April. This will do more than turn the tide and shift your income focus onto the future, for it brings you to the end game and the point where everything is due to start coming together. Jupiter will spend a year in each of the 12 areas of your chart, which is why it takes 12 years for a complete Jupiter cycle and for him to return, but that year is divided into three stages. The first stage is the introductory phase, where you re getting familiar with where things stand, you re able to get a sense of what you ve got to work with and what you want to focus on. This is the phase that Saturn is in now. The second phase is the review phase, where Jupiter retraces his steps, has a chance to take a second look at things and in hindsight get a better sense of where the money is and of your real values. This is the phase that Saturn is just beginning and Jupiter is just ending, with the two overlapping for just 24 days, from the 15th March to the 9th April. The third phase is going to be the hardest for Saturn but for Jupiter it s the best, for this is when the planet of luck and expansion is ready to bring things home, making things happen and between turning direct on the 9th April and leaving on the 11th August will bring everything together, revealing the opportunities he s been building towards and income growth and potential that is possible. Until Jupiter turns direct you re putting in the framework and doing the groundwork that future income opportunities will come from, though you might not actually see any actual results or returns until after he turns direct. It s in June that the faster moving planets will start returning to your income sector, starting with Venus who returns on the 6th June. This is extremely early in the year and with the Sun not returning until the 23rd July it is in fact too early, with Venus having to turn retrograde in order to slow down and catch up, something that will happen in late July/early August. Venus will actually leave your income sector on the 19th July but will retrograde back in for a double dip visit on the 1st August, ensuring she s here early enough to influence the start of Jupiter s final months, while also returning in time to not only be here when he leaves, but to keep income matters ticking over right through to November. With the Sun, Mercury and Mars all returning before Jupiter leaves, his final weeks and months are when you ll really get to find out what having lucky Jupiter in your income sector means. 16

17 In the meantime, Jupiter s direct turn on the 9th April is the beginning of that phase, though you ll have until Venus returns in June to find your feet and regain your momentum, for any planet that either turns direct or retrograde has to slow down to a standstill in order to make a U turn, which is why it s important to see income matters that appear to be stalled or stuck as a good not a bad thing. The real push to bring income matters and opportunities home won t begin until June, but this is the month where this third, final and most opportune phase begins. While Jupiter is on particularly good terms with Saturn in your work sector, because the much faster Jupiter got here 5 months before Saturn, they ll never move into an exact trine but he ll do just that with the planets moving through your career sector. From the 28th February to the 10th March Jupiter and Uranus were in an exact trine aspect and they ll move back into that aspect again in June, but he ll form an exact trine with the Sun on the 2nd/3rd April and with Mercury on the 6th/7th April. This is while Jupiter is still in retrograde motion but also while the Sun and Mercury will be coming under pressure from the lunar eclipse in your home and family sector on the 4th/5th April, getting as much out of the support they re able to get from Jupiter as he will from the support he ll get from them. This is during the final days of that 24 day period where the doors will be open to second chances and untapped potential on the income and work fronts at the same time, something the planets moving through your career sector will be able to take advantage of, making this an auspicious time for income, work and career matters and especially when it comes to building for the future. As this is such an important month for Jupiter and your income situation, matters and options it s fitting that the Moon should make two visits this month and that each will provide a very different perspective. The Moon will already be in your income sector as you move into the month, having returned on the 29th March and while this monthly visit will end on the 1st April, it will ensure that you ve got a nose for money from the get go and with your instincts are sharp, finger on the pulse and ear to the ground you re able to gain insight from the emotional, intuitive and imaginative responses this triggers. This will be the Moon s last visit to your income sector while Jupiter is in retrograde motion, triggering lucky hunches that are filtered through a nose for money that comes with 20/20 hindsight.
