ZSFG Human Resources Services Report Submitted to the Joint Conference Committee (July, 2018) Report Contents: Report Summary of Hiring Status ( rate over 10%) 1) Hospital vacancies have slowly decreased this month and we are currently at 8.80% as of July 16, 2018, which is down from 8.91% in June 2018. We ve hired a total of thirty- four (34) between June 19, 2018 and July 16, 2018 in various classifications including RNs and had thirty- eight (38) separations during the same period of which twentyfive (25) were retirements. As anticipated, we had significantly more retirement separations compared to last month due to fiscal year end. 2) Conducts monthly meetings with the hospital executive team to review the hiring status of ZSFG positions. 3) Current RN hiring status in critical areas: Emergency Care Unit- Experience Specialty Twenty-three (23) vacancies to fill, eight (8) modified to Training Specialty. Interviews tentatively scheduled for August. Training Program Eight (8) selections made for training specialty. Anticipated Training Program start date is August 27, 2018. Critical Care Unit - Experience Specialty Thirty-four (34) vacancies to fill. Nine (9) selections will be filled with combined applicant pool received from Critical Care Conference Recruiter leads, interviews anticipated in August. Training Program- Eight (8) vacancies will be filled for training specialty. There is no anticipated training date at this time until we fill additional experienced positions. Med/Surgical Unit- Experience Specialty Eighteen (18) vacancies to fill. Recruitment planning in progress with interviews anticipated early August. Training Program Six (6) vacancies for Training program, pending final selection of candidates with Training Program anticipated to begin in September. OR Unit- Experience Specialty- Two (2) vacancies to fill. Candidate selection in progress, with anticipated start work date in August. Training program Four (4) vacancies to fill, interviews in progress with anticipated Training Program to begin in August. 4) The recruiter is building a pipeline of candidates for upcoming training classes for August/September, by reaching out to schools such as UCSF, Samuel Merritt, SF State and San Jose State. Notices are also sent to local chapters for AACN, ENA and Honors Society Sigma Theta Tau. In the past month, an additional 21 new grads were added to her candidate pool for upcoming training programs in all the areas including Med/Surg, Critical Care and Emergency. Page 1 of 1 7/19/2018
