Lineage statement Lineage Statement Scope This dataset is a georeferenced version of the tabular data released by the Canadian Grain Commission. dataset 7. DATA CAPTURE This dataset was created from the Canadian Grain Commission list found at http://www.grainscanada.gc.ca/wa-aw/geic-sgc/search-recherche-eng.asp. This list was imported into ArcGIS 10.1 and geolocated to the nearest Station name. Once an initial location was found a more precise location was determined using grain company descriptions of the location of the elevator, the published physical address and google maps. Google street view was used where available to verify grain company names. The 2016 CGC elevators were updated using the information provided in the PDF report for the CGC Elevators as of April 1, 2016. The report can be located at: https://www.grainscanada.gc.ca/statistics-statistiques/geic-sgc/2016-04-01.pdf The Car Spot attribute was mined from CN and CP reports as well as grain company facility listings.
