NARRATIVE SUMMARY OF METHODS AND RESULTS: Sedum plants were purchased as 4 bare root plants and transplanted into 2 gallon pots on 15 April. The drench treatment was applied on 2 June and four hours later each container was infested with 4 adult black vine weevils and caged to prevent the insects from leaving. The containers were put outdoors in a container nursery and irrigated as needed with a drip irrigation system. The drench treatment rates of Dinotefuran were: 1x = 0.75 lb. product / 100 gal. water or.86g. of product to 960 milliliters of water 2x = 1.50 lb. product / 100 gal. water or 1.72g. of product to 960 milliliters of water 4x = 3.00 lb. product / 100 gal. water or 3.45g. of product to 960 milliliters of water 960 milliliters of each treatment were prepared to apply 240 ml of solution to each 10 (2 gallon) pot as required in the protocols. The drench was applied to the soil surface of each of the four replications. Four infested plants were left untreated as controls. There was no phytotoxicity on any of the treated plants (page 3). Plants were evaluated for feeding damage on three dates (see photos on page 6). To determine efficacy, the containers were dumped on 18 October and the roots and soil carefully examined for black vine weevil larvae. Many of the larvae found were within the roots. The plants were destroyed in the process of examination. The feeding damage and efficacy results are on page 4. 9. GOOD RESEARCH PRACTICE STATEMENT: I acknowledge that I have read and followed the IR-4 Research protocol and completed this trial following good agricultural practice, or reported any deviations (note any changes from authorized protocol in narrative).
