Puppet show organized at various blocks throughout the month, attended by innumerable people to disseminate the messages of 5 key practices among the villagers. SHG members have shown strong willingness to construct toilet and deposited the required money to GPRP worker with a view to make Kuldi as a Nirmal Village of Arsha Block. Girls back in schools at Sidhi village of Sidhi-Jamra GP Joypur Block. On 1 st October: The village is situated at the adjacent to the state of Jharkhand. Though the village has 394 household and they are belonging to SC communities. Rajen Kalindi (H.no:8) having 5 children (3 daughter and 2 sons) and the eldest daughter is already married when she was 15yrs old. Another 2 girl children are being drop out. After the motivation and persuasion of SBCC Animator the parents motivated to back their child in school. At the time of follow up (on11th octo) it has been observed that Rajen Kalindi again readmitted his daughter in class-i at Sidhi Primary School. Another incident has observed that about 6-7 girl children are also readmitted and they are interested to come regularly in school. SHG leaders come forward to make Kuldi a Nirmal Village of Jambaid GP- Arsha Block On 24 th : Kuldi is a backward village comprising of 53 families about 44 of them belong to OBC community. 51 families, majority of who are SHG members have shown strong willingness to construct toilet in their houses. After motivation and persuasion in several SHG meeting the SHG leader of Ma Kamala, Ma Manasa, Ma saraswati, Ma Durga Mahila Samity contacted the Gram Panchayat regarding the construction of Sanitary toilets at home and they deposited the all required money to GPRP worker Mamata Mandal to construct sanitary toilet. The SBCC functionaries are effectively using this impact and mobilizing other families to construct toilet at home.
Puppet show programme brought a great deal of change to community On 7 th -23 rd : Puppet show programme took place at Keliasota village of Dubra GP under Para block, Loulara village of Puncha GP under Puncha Block, Malthore village of Belma GP under Purulia II Block, & Kantadi village of Puara GP under Arsha Block. Kesargar village of Kesargar GP under Hura Block, Hussiondih of Jhalda-I and Suisa of Bagmundi Block during the month of October. Approx 500-700 viewers gathered at each show and keenly followed the programmes. After the programme a feedback from the participants were demanded and they agreed this puppet show programme brought a great deal of change to them. VIC members of the respective villages are playing a vital role to organize this programme and they are also accumulating the feedback from the participants. This programme is becoming one of the effective programme through which innumerable peoples are gathering at a place at evening and understanding the value of this programme and it is appreciated by them.. GP level Sensitization meeting emphasized on Sanitary Toilet construction Udaypur-Joynagar GP, Para. On 30 th : A GP Sensitization meeting was conducted at Udaypur-Joynagar GP of Para Block in which 92 SHG mothers, PRI members, Pradhan, Upapradhan, GPRP, RSM representatives and VIC members were participated. Unicef Consultant of SBCC and NGO Kalyan officials were also present and discussed over the role of VIC and other frontline workers in installation of sanitary toilet. GP Pradhan Mr. Hiralal Rajwar presided over the meeting. Discussion took place on the issues of spreading of certain communicable diseases like Diarrhea, Typhoid, Dysentery, Hepatitis etc. where the importance of washing hands with soap before meal, after defecation and after the cleaning of child s feces was emphasized. The GP Pradhan hailed the initiative of SBCC team that motivated 213 families from 14 BCC villages of the GP to construct sanitary toilets. All the participants in the meeting took oath to installation sanitary toilets in every house and make Udaypur-Joynagar GP a Nirmal GP within 1 year.
