We also held an assembly to teach our students about Epilepsy and what to do if they see a friend having a seizure. Nicola We had a lovely day selling our cupcakes and raising awareness for Epilepsy. My clients were walking on cloud nine the entire day and were very proud of themselves. They were handing out the 'keys' that you sent us, they are such an amazing tool and got some very positive feedback from some clients! Krystal

THE NEED WITHIN AUSTRALIA Right now about 250,000 children, young people and adults are living with epilepsy. Although there are currently 250,000 individual diagnosed cases around the country, epilepsy is a 'family' disease that impacts more than just the person diagnosed. The whole household/family is affected, meaning the actual number of Australian's impacted by the condition will be far greater. Over 55% of Australians know someone with epilepsy. That's 13.2 million people!

YOUR FUNDING SUPPORTS OUR INITIATIVES MY EPILEPSY Is a self management tool provided in USB-style format that contains information KEY and resources for people impacted by epilepsy Australia wide. The Key assists people to better manage their condition and brings them closer together, linking them with a greater support network and giving them up-to-date information anywhere and anytime. TED-E-BEAR CONNECTION Living with epilepsy can be really tough, especially for children. We give young children affected by epilepsy an adorable Ted-E-Bear, along with information and resources for the family in an easily digestible format. The families also receive ongoing support from staff and are connected with other families in similar situations. The bears have proven to be great teachers, helping children s friends and classmates to better understand epilepsy. O N L I N E Provides epilepsy learning and education to the community the first of its kind in Australia! ACADEMY The Academy caters to people across all kinds of knowledge needs: from those who want a basic introduction to epilepsy, through to health professionals who require more advanced information. It incorporates videos, interactive activities and downloadable written materials. Courses include: Epilepsy Essentials, Emergency Medication, School courses, GP Training, etc.
