CENTRAL PACIFIC: Disturbance 1 Located 1400 miles WSW of Honolulu, Hawaii System is drifting to the NW Environmental conditions expected to become more conducive for tropical cyclone formation over the next few days as systems continues NW. Formation chance through 48 hours: MEDIUM (40%)
ATLANTIC: Hurricane MATTHEW Located about 220 miles SE of Kingston, Jamaica. Movement is north at 6 mph. Maximum sustained wind speed is 140 mph (Cat 4) Some fluctuation in strength is likely over the next few days. Expected to remain a powerful hurricane through early Wednesday Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 30 miles from the center and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 195 miles. No watches or warnings are in effect for territories of the United States
