V. THE INTERACTIVE MAP The on-line map Missoula County Industrial Lands Survey and Inventory, located at (http://mcgis.maps.arcgis.com/apps/viewer/index.html?appid=b1165eaeb51144c4bf51e630b73d0a08) provides a wealth of information about the County s industrially designated or zoned lands. Thanks to the combined efforts of CAPS Senior GIS Specialist Nate Rogers and PCI Staff, we have provided layers of data that can be uncovered on this map down to the individual parcel ownership. Here is a basic primer to navigating the map: LEGEND: When you first open the map, it shows the Blocks of industrial lands that we identified in an effort to simplify and generalize the great amount of information collected about these lands. You can then select an appropriate base map from the Base Map Gallery located in the map title block: The Streets base provides the clearest background for locating individual parcels, but the Imagery base will allow you to see the structures and landscape features on each site from recent satellite images. Section V/Page 1

INDIVIDUAL PARCEL DATA: Individual parcel data can be retrieved by pointing and clicking anywhere on the base map. If the parcel is within one of our Blocks, the pop-up will identify which Block the parcel is in, along with acreage and build-out of all the lands within that Block. You can click forward through the pop-up for additional information about ownership, zoning, legal and other data about that parcel. A blue outline on the map will show whether the information in the pop-up relates to an individual parcel, or to the Block of industrial lands. Section V/Page 2

LAYERS: The map s list of informational layers are brought up by clicking the Layers icon in the map title block. These layers contain an enormous amount of information on the infrastructure serving Missoula s industrial land base, as well as regulatory and environmental overlays. LAYER: Industrial Designation Industrial Taxed Parcels Industrial Zoning Mixed Use Zoning Southside Riverfront (Check the left hand box to bring up the following information) These are lands designated for industrial use by one of the City s or County s land use plans or growth policies. Taxed as such by the Montana Department of Revenue Areas zoned industrial by the City or County of Missoula Two types of mixed use zoning are shown these are important in that they modify the zoning for some lands with industrial zoning. This area is transitioning from light industry to multifamily mixed use and single family residential. Section V/Page 3

Various Boundaries Urban Renewal Districts TIFF/TEDD Boundaries The Missoula County and City Limits, Urban Service Area, Air Stagnation Zone and Airport Influence Area are identified. This identifies current URDs. These tax increment financing districts are identified. 1988 Floodplain This is a generalized map of the floodplain. Clicking on the label will bring a drop-down list identifying each color on the map. (Note that you may need to zoom out to view the floodplain the mapped data is not intended to be applied to individual parcels.) PCI Blocks The map outlines the location and the identifying number of the designated Blocks that comprise the land basis for this Inventory. Section V/Page 4

Parcels with Buildings Truck Routes Missoula County Rails Missoula Fiber This information was gathered from Department of Revenue data so that we could analyze vacancy/availability status of the industrial parcels. These are Missoula s designated Truck Routes, which generally coincide with designated Arterial Routes. Missoula County Rails was from existing information mapped by the County. We supplemented this with current maps from MRL (listed under Missoula Track, Parts 1 and 2 ) that show the main rail lines plus sidings and spur lines throughout the County. This layer represents the National Telecommunications Information Administration (NTIA) State Broadband Data Development Program (SBDD) area of broadband availability. Area of broadband availability refers to those individual US Census Blocks, less than 2 square miles, where each facilities-based provider of broadband service can provide broadband services of minimal characteristics within 7-10 business days. NOTE: YOU SHOULD CONTACT THE BROADBAND PROVIDERS TO DETERMINE AVAILABILITY OF THESE LINES AND COSTS TO CONNECT. Section V/Page 5

Sanitary Sewer This map of existing sewer mains was obtained from the City of Missoula. (Note that you may need to zoom in to a close level for this map layer to be visible.) BPA Transmission DST The Hot Springs and Garrison to Taft overhead powerlines are shown. Data Search Tools that MDEQ uses to monitor potentially hazardous waste sources. This list includes, for example, underground storage tanks and open cut mines. Section V/Page 6
