Mrs. Gladys Fuller Stricken at Age 80 Mrs. Gladys Bernice Fuller, 80, of 734 Lewis, died in a local hospital Saturday afternoon. She had been in ill health for a year. The Fullers came to Walla Walla from Kennewick in 1934. Her husband, Harry A. Fuller, died in Walla Walla in 1946. Five children survive. They are Charles E. Fuller, Harley J. Fuller and Mary Hubbard, all of Walla Walla, Harry A. Fuller of Kennewick, and Mrs. Richard (Grace) Ritchie of Longview. Also surviving are a brother, Norman Hubbard of Minneapolis, Minnesota, 15 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Mrs. Fuller was a member of the Central Christian church. She was born March 23, 1871 at Spencer, Iowa. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at a local chapel. Second Generation 2. Alice Bernice FULLER, F. Born on 10 Aug 1890 in South Dakota. Alice Bernice died on 3 Jan 1949; she was 58. The name of Rosetta was found on the 1920 Census. The name of Alice B. Davison was found on funeral records (1946) of her father Harry A. Fuller. Her name was not mentioned on her mother Gladys Bernice Fuller s funeral records (1951). I had been thinking about writing to you about one of the Fuller's I've been working on and seeing if you knew where and when she died. Alice Bernice Fuller, born 10 Aug 1890 in Sious Falls, Iowa. Her parents were Harry Alvin Fuller and Gladys Bernice Hubbard. In 1910 she married William George Davison born in Ireland 10 Feb 1876 and died in Vancouver, Clark, Washington in March of 1971. They had four children - George, William, Alice and Velma. The last place I can find that she lived from the obit for her father Alvin Hubbard, was in 1946 in Grano, North Dakota. The census records from 1910 through 1930, show her living in Clay, Renville, North Dakota. The information my Uncle John gave me, indicates she died 3 January 1949 - place unknown. Fuller, 82, 625 N. 11th Ave., died Sunday at the Veterans Administration Hospital. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Herring Funeral Home, chapel with burial in Mountain View Cemetery. Fuller was born in Rudd, Iowa, March 16, 1894, the son of Harry and Gladys Fuller. He attended schools in Osage, Iowa, and Twin Brooks, S. D. came to Walla Walla. His widow, Theadora, survives at the family home. They were married in Walla Walla in 1931. Fuller was a farmer and wheat warehouseman. When living in Seattle after 1941, he worked for Austin Construction Co. as a cement finisher. He returned to Walla Walla in 1946 to work for the Walla Walla Valley Railway. He retired in 1960. Fuller was a member of the Veterans of Foreigns Wars and Veterans of World War I. Besides his widow, he is survived by his son, David E. Fuller, Lynnwood, Wash.; his sisters, Grace Ritchie, Milton-Freewater, and Mary Hubbard, Walla Walla; his brother, Harry Fuller and Harley Fuller, both of Walla Walla; one granchild and a number of nieces and nephews. Notes from Janice Thank you for all the info. I'm attaching a report for Rosanna Grace Fuller McFarland Ritchie (Your report shows her at Grace R. Fuller) Her oldest son George Ralph, is my adopted dad. My mom Doris May Hubbard was married three times: 1. Kenneth Percy Henderson - my birth dad. 2. George Ralph McFarland - my adopted dad and son of Rosanna Grace Fuller. 3. Merle Hickman - his mom was Alvera Dehm Hickman, the sister of my grandmother Gertrude Dehm Hubbard. I lived with my mom and dad Henderson and brother Ken until I was about 5 years old or so, then Ken and I lived with my grandmother Henderson in Missouri until the fall of 1951. Then we lived with my mom and George McFarland, who then adopted my oldest brother Ken and me. I had an odd childhood. My mom had custody of my brother and I, but my dad and his mom took us to Missouri; then after mom remarried and had another child, she came to Missouri and took us to California. She claimed my dad and his mom hid us, but my dad said that after they were divorced, she kept leaving us with various people while she was off with her married boyfriend (which I think was Merle Hickman - they were high school sweethearts but were forbidden to marry since they were first cousins) and my dad kept getting calls to get up, so he just up and took us out of state since in the 1940's the courts always gave the kids to the mother. At least that's the story I've be en told - the truth is probably somewhere in the middle. Anyway, since I was adopted into the McFarland family and Grace was my grandmother and I had lots of McFarland cousins and aunts and uncles, I have lots of McFarlands in my family tree. And McFarland married Fuller and I'm also a Fuller. There are a lot of McFarlands probably also buried in Washington. (Janice) Ann, You have a few more siblings than I do. Elverta, which is about 25 miles north of me - still in the Sacramento area and Ken lives in Salida, which is about 60 miles south of me, just north of the town of Modesto. I look up Kilkenny Court - had never heard of it. It's about five miles south of where I live. Where I lived before, my neighbor worked for food and ag, but I haven't seen him for close to 12 years. I've worked in both the San Francisco Bay Area and in the Los Angeles area after disasters and I can't decide which one I dislike the most. Probably Los Angeles - I had to fly back and forth. Our field office was in Pasadena and I had to either fly into Ontario or Burbank. I tried to time my arrivals and departures to miss the worst of their commute traffic. After the 1989 earthquake our field office was set up in Mountain View, which is the south bay, and I drove. I was able to drive from Sacramento to Mountain View without going through San Francisco or the Oakland side of the bay. Drove south from Sacramento to Tracy and then took the highway over the Altamont Pass, which got me to almost the south end of the bay. The traffic is terrible in both places - it has also gotten bad in this area, but I don't have to get out and drive in the commute traffic any more. I retired in the spring of 2003 after 28 years with the state. I was born in Walla Walla, lived a bit in Yakima when I was small and when my parents were divorced when I was 4-5, my brother Ken and I ended up living with my paternal grandmother in Joplin/Neosho are of Missouri. Long story, but my mom had custody, but my dad and his mom took us to Missouri. After my mom remarried and had my younger brother, she came to Missouri and got us and brought us out to Sacramento and this is where I have lived since 1951. I've been divorced since 1981. I have four married children, three sons and 1 daughter, all living in the area. I have 10 grandchildren ( 5 boys and 5 girls - ranging in age from almost 5 to almost 22) and one great-granddaughter, who will be 4 in April. My mom was married three times - her second husband - my adopted dad - was related - Fuller/McFarland descendant; and her third husband was her first cousin - their mothers wer e sisters. My dad was married four times. He had two sons by his second wife that I met once in about 1950 when they were babies/toddlers; a third wife that he had the marriage annuled after a few weeks and his fourth wife, who is a very sweet person and I stay in touch with her. When he died in 2002, they had been married 37 years. She was 45 when they married - her first marriage - and they never had any kids. My dad tried some years ago to locate his two sons by his second marriage, but was not able to and I've done some searching, but have had no luck and it's not something I'm really pursuing.
