NATIONAL FESTIVAL OF THE STATES WASHINGTON, D.C. Part of the 150 TH COMMEMORATION of the AMERICAN CIVIL WAR

NATIONAL FESTIVAL OF THE STATES WASHINGTON, D.C. The National Festival of the States is an annual concert series developed by Music Celebrations in various cities throughout the United States. These performance tours are supported by local government offices, community organizations, tourist boards, and the like. In conjunction with the National Park Service, the Armed Forces Retirement Home, and the U.S. Navy Memorial, Music Celebrations International invites choirs, bands, and orchestras of the highest quality throughout the country to take part in this concert series event, which features these ensembles in the most prestigious venues available with the greatest potential for audiences. The 2013 concert series is part of the official 150 th Anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg.

FOR THE OFFICIAL COMMEMORATION of the 150TH ANNIVERSARY of the BATTLE OF GETTYSBURG and the GETTYSBURG ADDRESS

The Battle of Gettysburg and Lincoln s Gettysburg Address represent two of the most significant milestones in American history. One changed the course of America s bloodiest conflict when the fighting ended, the brutal three-day battle left behind more than 51,000 killed, wounded, captured, or missing the other encapsulated the significance of American democracy and paved the way for reconciliation and healing.

(MCI) is an exclusive licensee with Gettysburg 150. The aim of Gettysburg 150 and MCI is to invite performance ensembles from every corner of the United States to participate in ceremonies marking this important anniversary, and to conduct commemorative performances in Gettysburg where so many Americans were injured and lost their lives, and where Lincoln s immortal words became forever enshrined in the annals of history.
