Coflore Agitated Cell Reactor
Coflore ACR The Coflore ACR is a lab flow reactor developed by AM Technology for studying chemistry in flow and developing scalable continuous processes. Its flexible design enables it to handle: Fast exothermic processes of less than 30 seconds Slow mass transfer or kinetically limited processes lasting hours Common process mixtures involving solids, slurries and gasses Active mixing, combined with multiple cells, provides the key to scale up with Coflore. If it works in the lab, it will work on the plant. The Coflore ACR is the starting point for developing flow chemistry solutions at the plant scale.
Advantages Highly configurable Options include co and counter current process plates, different materials of construction and adjustable working volumes. Cleanable All wetted surfaces are accessible for cleaning. Wide scope of chemistry Works with residence times from seconds to hours. Mixtures containing slurries and gases can be processed. Simple to use Minimal set up required. Residence time is fixed by the pump feed rate not the size of the reactor tubing. Good mixing and plug flow is maintained by default. Wide pump selection Very low pressure drops for both process and heat transfer fluid, greatly expands your choice of pumps. A tool for lab chemistry Reactor contents can be observed through glass windows. Operates with low working volumes and simple controls.
Features Reactor cabinet The stainless steel enclosure isolates the control equipment and drive mechanism from the process fluids. The reactor enclosure has a hinged lid, drip tray and ventilation connection. ATEX rated cabinets are available for hazardous area use. Configurable Reactor Block The demountable reactor block has 10 reaction cells for excellent plug flow. Borosilicate windows give visibility into the reaction cells. It can be fully dismantled for reconfiguration or cleaning. Sample points, addition points and temperature measurement can be added to any of the 10 reaction cells. Controls Temperature measurement and agitation control are standard on all models. Advanced control units provide 10 point temperature monitoring, data logging and programmable I/O for controlling peripherals such as pumps and valves. Temperature control Heat transfer fluid passes through the back plate of the reactor block and is actively mixed for outstanding performance. Standard laboratory heater/chillers can be connected to the reactor cabinet.

ACR Cabinet Standard ACR Control Advanced ACR Control The standard ACR control cabinet provides essential control features for operation. This includes a start/stop agitation button, a dial to select agitation frequency and a dial to select a temperature reading from up to 10 temperature probes. The advanced ACR control cabinet is packed with additional features. A 5.5 interactive touchscreen allows the user to do everything the standard machine can plus process monitoring, data logging and much more. Features Standard Advanced Variable agitation control Temperature measurement Removable reactor block Containment enclosure Air supply pressure regulator Process monitoring Control auxiliary equipment remotely Data logging Air supply pressure transmitter Programmable safety alarm
ACR Reactor Block The ACR reactor block consists of a: Front plate with process windows Process plate with agitators Rear heat transfer plate Process Plate A series of reaction cells provide a path for process material. Side entry ports allow for reaction monitoring, sampling and addition. Process plates are interchangeable with two designs. Agitators Free moving agitators can be placed in each reactor cell. Mixing is generated by the ACR shaking the reactor block side to side. Agitators are interchangeable with various designs. Front Plate Windows can provide visibility for observing the chemistry. Windows are interchangeable with entry ports for reaction monitoring, sampling and addition. Heat Transfer Plate Control reaction temperature by applying heating or cooling with the heat transfer plate. Coflore ACR. Simple. Cleanable. Flexible.
ACR Process Plate ACR-100 The standard process plate has a working volume from 30 to 100 ml. It is suitable for homogeneous and heterogeneous, multiphase mixtures. The ACR-100 process plate fits inside an ACR reactor block assembly which is mounted onto a Coflore ACR Control Cabinet. It has 10 reaction stages and features glass viewing windows, side and front entry ports to the reaction cells, single and multiport injection nozzles and multipoint temperature measurement. Dimensions Cell diameter: 25 mm Reactor volume: 100 ml No. of channels: 11 Channel size: 4 x 4 mm Cell depth: 20 mm ACX-100 The ACX-100 process plate is used for counter-current operations which includes counter current extraction and reactions. It can handle multiphase materials flowing in opposite directions. The ACX-100 process plate can replace the ACR-100 process plate and then be fitted into a Coflore ACR Control Cabinet. Continuous counter current extractors give higher extraction efficiency with lower solvent usage. ACR Agitators Cylindrical To meet the demands of a wide range of chemistry, all agitators developed at AM Technology are tried and tested, with each design evolving to meet real challenges faced in the lab. Choose from three standard designs: High Shear, Cylindrical and Catalyst Basket. Materials of construction include stainless steel, Hastelloy, tantalum and Ceramic. Cylindrical agitators are available in three sizes; 30%, 50% and 70%. These are selected according to the working volume required in the ACR. High Shear Catalyst Basket High Shear agitators are especially designed for processes that require intense shear mixing. Applications include gas / liquid, solid / liquid, liquid / liquid and gas / liquid / solids. Catalyst Basket agitators are designed specifically for solid catalysed reactions. Catalyst particle sizes of between 0.4 mm and 2 mm can be loaded into the enclosed basket.
Heat Transfer Plate The heat transfer plate provides many key advantages and features. These include: Outstanding performance - even at low flow rates of heat transfer fluid. Unique design allows low pressure heater/chiller circulators to be used. Adjust the heat transfer fluid flow rate for a desired temperature profile through the reactor. Run more chemistry neat, closer to the kinetic limit in confidence
