Event Info Welcome to the Water Lantern Festival presented by One World. Experience a celebration of happiness, peace, and hope. It s a time where we can come together, love one another, and heal ourselves. One World brings individuals from all ages, backgrounds, and walks of life to join together in one memorable night. As the sun begins to set in the evening sky, the Water Lantern Festival begins to shine as the lanterns are launched onto the water. Watch your unique lantern drift on the water as it joins other lanterns carrying hope, love, happiness, healing, and connection. See next page for more info. what TO BRING WHAT TO EXPECT The Water Lantern Festival is the only festival in the United States that combines the magic of friends, family, great food, and a beautiful array of twinkling lanterns on the waterfront. There is something to do for everyone at this beautiful event. Parking Parking Parking passes MUST be purchased in advance. Parking will not be available for those without a parking pass. You can purchase a parking pass here. Please place your parking pass in the dash of the driver s side. By Car: -Take NJ Trunpike -Take exit 14-14A-14B-14C for I-78 toward Holland Tunnel -Follow signs for Holland Tunnel -Take exit 14B toward Jersey City -Turn left onto Bayview Ave -Turn left onto Freedom Way -Follow signs for Water Lantern Festival Parking will be available at the Liberty Science Center (222 Jersey City Blvd, Jersey City, NJ 07305) starting at 5:30pm and the shuttle will take you to the event area. Public Transportation public transportation From Hoboken Train Terminal / PATH subway / Bus station: Take the Bergen-Hudson Lightrail to the Liberty State Park Station. From there, take the shuttle bus to event sit. From Journal Square, Jersey City: Take the PATH subway to Exchange Place in Jersey City. Then take the Light Rail to Liberty State Park. From there, take the shuttle bus to the event site. From Newark Penn Station: Take the PATH subway to Exchange Place in Jersey City. Then take the Light Rail to Liberty State Park. From there, take the shuttle bus to the event site. From Manhattan: Take the PATH from WTC to Exchange Place. Then transfer to the Light Rail and get off at Liberty State Park. Lantern Launch At the appropriate time our team will provide instructions to begin the lantern launch. The launch window will last approximately one hour so please don t rush to the water as there will be ample time to launch your lantern. Please Note Please understand that each event is unique and we will do our best to ensure a beautiful experience. However, the lantern launch is subject to weather conditions which may have an impact on the lanterns and their movement upon the water. Schedule 4:00 PM Gates Open - you can arrive anytime between 4:00-9:00 PM. Please arrive before 9:00 PM. 4:00 PM - 9:00 PM Entertainment, Lantern Decorating, & Food Trucks 9:30 PM 10:30 PM Lantern launch window Decorate YOUR LANTERN Decorate your lantern with messages of hope, love, dreams, goals, remembrances, or whatever your heart desires. Push the four rods into each corner on the base of the lantern and slide the paper sleeve over the rods. Place the LED candle in the center of the lantern, but don t turn it on until it s time to launch your lantern. We utilize reusable LED candles to enhance your experience by making sure your lantern remains lit throughout the event. It also ensures that our team is able to find and collect the lantern following the event. Listen for the announcements with instructions on launching your lantern on the water during the 1 hour launch window.

FOOD & VENDORS VENDORS Want to find cool local products? Spend time walking through our vendor and craft section to discover unqiue local items. Our vendor section will be open during the entire event. FOOD Come hungry! The Water Lantern Festival has partnered with some of the best food trucks in town to satisfy ANY craving. Bring some extra cash and try some great food with your friends!

More Info Sustainability One World cares deeply about our environment and our water resources. Following the event our team will retrieve each lantern and clean-up any trash that may have previously been in or around the water. In addition, each lantern is made from wood and rice paper making them as environmentally friendly as possible. After the event concludes, please help clean up any trash and leave no trace. Release waiver By participating in the Water Lantern Festival presented by One World, you agree to the release waiver which can be viewed at http://www.waterlanternfestival.com/release-waiver.php. We are Charity Water Lantern Festival is proud to support your local community not only by bringing a beautiful event to you, but also by helping out a charity in the area. We are working with the following charity to support their cause. not responsible for lost or stolen items. Children should not be left unattended at anytime during the event.
