Single-photon emission computed tomograph «EFATOM» (SPECT/CT) Tomograph is aimed for medical diagnostic tests of human viscera with imaging technique of pharmaceuticals distribution radiolabeled with gamma-emitting radiopharmaceuticals. In 2008 the EFATOM successfully tested in Hospital 83 FMBA in Moscow, showing its compliance with the characteristics similar to the current level of foreign technology. NIIEFA has the registration certificate FCR 2009/05499, that confirm the permission to manufacture, sale the EFATOM tomograph. Compact cyclotrons CC-12 a special-purpose cyclotron for producing 12 MeV proton beams The cyclotron is intended for producing ultra short - lived radionuclide's for production of radiopharmaceuticals for PET Under construction in one of Central European countries 10
Compact cyclotrons СС18/9М a cyclotron for producing proton beams with an energy variable from 12 up to 18 MeV and deuteron beams with an energy variable from 6 up to 9MeV. The cyclotron is intended to effectively produce both ultra shortlived and short-lived radionuclide's. Why proton therapy? 1. Highly-accurate type of radiotherapy The maximum dose treats the tumor precisely The controlled penetration depth is up to 30 cm 2. Center s moderate size will reduce initial investments. 2. Costs of construction and equipment 40-45 M$ depending on selected configuration. 3. Modern methods will allow for gradual increase of the Center s admission capacity. 4. Exceptional oncological treatment. 5. Radiation treatment can be effected by 3 types of irradiation: gamma (with radioactive isotopes): braking radiation (X-ray): electron beam (β-irradiation). Irradiation causes the ionization process in the products tissue that leads to modification of the atomic structure
18 Irradiation center package solution for radiation technological treatment of the goods Equipment of the irradiation center: Particle accelerators and radionuclide sources of gammairradiation are used as generators in the Irradiation center. Particle accelerators Linear accelerator generating electron beams with scanner is placed in the shielding block. Main characteristics of the accelerators: Electron energy from 0,2 to 10 MeV Electron beam power 10-200 kwt Benefits: High productivity, user-friendly system of the process control. Parameter A convertor unit transforming electron beam into braking radiation (energy up to 5 MeV) may be used in order to achieve high penetrating power of radiation. Gamma-facility In a gamma-facility a closed radionuclide source with Co-60 is used for ionizing irradiation. Main parameters: Initial activity of the source 350±10% KCu (12,95*1015 Bq); Maximal capacity of the radiator 1000 KCu; Benefits: high penetrating power of the γ-irradiation, irradiation dose flexibility, irradiation process autonomy.
