Fr Aqua4Plus 1.9.7 and later r Aqua4Plus Lite 2.1.1 r later. (Fr earlier versins r if using a PT2X with firmware lwer than 1.5, see Applicatin Nte 9C0152) Intrductin Purpse f this dcument is t prvide a simple descriptin fr cnfiguring a PT2X, LevelSCOUT, r CT2X Smart Sensr t read depth-t-water, grundwater elevatin, r staff gauge measurements using the Aqua4Plus r Aqua4Plus Lite Cntrl Sftware. In nrmal cnfiguratin, these return a pressure measurement relative t the water abve the sensr. This can be expressed in psi, feet f water, inches f mercury, r a number f ther units - hwever, it is always relative t the water abve the sensr. Often an engineer will need t knw the depth-t-water, the elevatin f the water, r a staff gauge measurement. Using Aqua4Plus/Aqua4Plus Lite settings, these sensrs can be cnfigured t display these. PT2X, LevelSCOUT, r CT2X installed in well. Aqua4Plus versin 1.9.7 r later r Aqua4Plus Lite 2.1.1 r later running n yur cmputer and cnnected t the sensr. If yur sensr is an abslute sensr, yu will als need a barmeter r ther device t btain the current barmetric pressure. (If using a cableless sensr r if yu want t enter a depth-t-water ffset after data cllectin n an abslute sensr, see the Barmetric Cmpensatin Utility Applicatin Nte (LT-14304) fr futher infrmatin.) If setting fr grundwater elevatin, yu will need t knw the elevatin at the tp f yur well casing. If setting fr staff gauge measurements, yu will need t knw the current staff gauge reading. Getting Started T cnfigure a PT2X. LevelSCOUT, r a CT2X t read depth-t-water, grundwater elevatin, r staff gauge measurement, yu will need t adjust settings in the Settings and Calibratin windw. Run Aqua4Plus Lite r Aqua4Plus and scan fr sensrs. On the Sensr Map, click the sensr yu want t adjust. Frm Aqua4Plus Lite: Select the units yu want t use fr measurements, i.e., psi, feet f water, inches f mercury, etc. Set this frm the Cnfigure Menu Prgram Cnfiguratin Set Cmputer Display Units. Open the Settings and Calibratin windw by clicking n the Settings buttn. Frm Aqua4Plus: Select the units yu want t use fr measurements, i.e., psi, feet f water, inches f mercury, etc. Set this frm the Optins Menu Display Units. Open the Settings and Calibratin windw frm the Cnfigure Menu Settings and Calibratin. Settings can nly be dne when there are n sessins stred n the sensr. If there are any sessins n yur sensr, uplad any data yu want t keep and then erase the sessin befre cntinuing. Brief Overview Seametrics 19026 72nd Avenue Suth Kent, Washingtn 98032 USA Page 2 f 5

Cnfiguring fr Depth-t-Water When using the Depth-t-Water setting, yu may want t change the channel label at the tp f the Settings windw t read Depth r Depth-t-Water. NOTE: Be sure t use the same units fr all measurements in this calculatin. Fr example, if yu have the prgram set t display in Ft H2O then be sure t enter the barmetric pressure and depth-t-water readings in Ft H2O. If using a cableless PT2X r LevelSCOUT, see the Barmetric Cmpensatin Utility Applicatin Nte (LT-14304) fr futher infrmatin. -- Cmputing Offset Frm the Select Setting Type drpdwn bx, select Depth-t-Water. If using an abslute sensr, enter the current barmetric pressure in the Barmetric bx. Place the sensr in the well. Using a water level indicatr r ther measuring device, determine the depth-t-water frm the tp f the well (r ther reference pint). Enter this value in the DTW bx. Click the Measure buttn. When readings have stabilized, click the Accept buttn in the pp-up bx. -- Applying the Slpe and Offset -- Click the Apply buttn t apply the calculated values. The calculated slpe and ffset will be transferred t the fields near the tp f the windw. Using the Real Time Mnitr, take a few readings t verify it is reading as expected. When taking readings n an abslute sensr yu will need t ADD the current barmetric pressure t the sensr reading t get depth-t-water. If yu are using a PT2X r LevelSCOUT, see the applicatin nte INW Abslute Smart Sensrs: Barmetric Cmpensatin with Optinal DTW Setting (LT-14304) fr infrmatin n hw the Barmetric Utility can help autmate this prcess. Cnfiguring fr Grundwater Elevatin (Elevatin Abve Sea Level) When using the Elevatin setting, yu may want t change the channel label at the tp f the Settings windw t read Elevatin. NOTE: Be sure t use the same units fr all measurements n this page. Fr example, if yu have the prgram set t display in Ft H2O then be sure t enter the elevatin, barmetric pressure, and depth-t-water in Ft H2O. -- Cmputing Offset Frm the Select Setting Type drpdwn bx, select Elevatin. Enter the elevatin f the tp f the well (r ther reference pint). -- Applying Offset -- Click the Apply buttn t apply the calculated ffset. The calculated ffset will be transferred t the ffset field near the tp f the windw. Using the Real Time Mnitr, take a few readings t verify it is reading as expected. When taking readings n an abslute sensr, yu will need SUBTRACT the current barmetric pressure frm the sensr readings t get the elevatin. If yu are using a PT2X r LevelSCOUT,, see the applicatin nte INW Abslute Smart Sensrs: Barmetric Cmpensatin with Optinal DTW Setting (LT-14304) fr infrmatin n hw the Barmetric Utility can help autmate this prcess. Cnfiguring fr Staff Gauge Measurements When using the Staff Gauge setting, yu may want t change the channel label at the tp f the Settings windw t read Staff Gauge. NOTE: Be sure t use the same units fr all measurements n this page. Fr example, if yu have the prgram set t display in Ft H2O then be sure t enter the barmetric pressure and staff gauge readings in Ft H2O. -- Cmputing Offset Frm the Select Setting Type drpdwn bx, select Staff Gauge. If using an abslute sensr, enter the current barmetric pressure in the Barmetric bx. Place the sensr in the well. Nte the current level n yur staff gauge. Enter this value in the Staff bx. Click the Measure buttn. When readings have stabilized, click the Accept buttn in the pp-up bx. -- Applying Offset -- Click the Apply buttn t apply the calculated ffset. The calculated ffset will be transferred t the ffset field near the tp f the windw. Using the Real Time Mnitr, take a few readings t verify it is reading as expected.
