ArcWhatever: A Shrt Explanatin f Sme ESRI Prducts ArcGIS is a cmplete, single, integrated system fr gegraphic data creatin, management, integratin, and analysis. ArcGIS is scalable since it can be deplyed n an individual desktp r acrss a glbally distributed netwrk f peple. ArcGIS Desktp refers t a suite f fur integrated cre applicatins: ArcReader, ArcView, ArcEditr and ArcInf. The ArcGIS Desktp prducts (ArcView, ArcEditr, and ArcInf) are Internet-enabled and can seamlessly integrate data frm any ArcIMS server fr analysis with lcal data. Organizatins deply the sftware and extensins f ArcGIS, ArcView, ArcEditr, ArcInf, ArcSDE, and ArcIMS in a cnfiguratin apprpriate fr their needs. Shasta Cunty currently has a number f ArcView and ArcInf licenses available t emplyees fr GIS uses. Cmplete GIS ArcReader is a free, easy-t-use prduct that allws anyne t view, explre, and print published map files. ArcView includes all the functinality f ArcReader and prvides data visualizatin, query, analysis, and integratin capabilities alng with the ability t create and edit simple gegraphic features. ArcEditr is the cmplete GIS desktp system fr editing and managing gegraphic data. ArcEditr is a member f the ArcGIS family f GIS prducts and includes all the functinality f ArcView in additin t cmprehensive GIS edit tls. ArcInf is the mst cmplete and extisible GIS available. It includes all the functinality f Arcview and ArcEditr and add advanced geprcessing and data cnversin capabilities. Prfessinal GIS users use ArcInf fr all aspects f data building, mdeling, analysis, and map display fr screen and utput. ArcSDE is a server sftware prduct used t access massively large multiuser gegraphic databases stred in relatinal database management systems (RDBMSs). It is an integrated part f ArcGIS and a cre element f any enterprise GIS slutin. ArcIMS is the slutin fr delivering dynamic maps and GIS data and services via the Web. ArcPad sftware is mbile mapping and gegraphic infrmatin system (GIS) technlgy.

ArcGIS Extensins: ArcGIS 3D Analyst Extensin ArcGIS Gestatistical Analyst Extensin ArcGIS Spatial Analyst Extensin ArcGIS Business Analyst ArcGIS Miliraty Analyst Extensin ArcGIS Maplex Extensin ArcGIS Survey Analyst Extensin ArcGIS Tracking Analyst Extensin ArcScan fr ArcGIS Extensin ArcGIS StreetMap USA ArcGIS Publisher Extensin ArcPress fr ArcGIS ArcGIS ArcScan ArcGIS Data Interperability ArcGIS Tracking Analyst prvides tls fr playback and analysis f time series data. Tracking Analyst helps visualize cmplex time series and spatial patterns and interactins while integrating with all ther GIS data within the ArcGIS system. With ArcGIS Tracking Analyst yu can Play back histrical data. Use rule-based drawing. See tempral patterns in data. Integrate tempral data within yur GIS. Leverage existing GIS data t create time series visualizatins. Build charts fr analyzing change in histrical r real-time data. ArcGIS Tracking Analyst extends the ArcGIS Desktp with time series and real-time visualizatin f change.

ArcExplrer is a lightweight GIS data viewer develped by ESRI. This freely available sftware ffers an easy way t perfrm a variety f basic GIS functins, including display, query, and data retrieval applicatins. It can be used n its wn with lcal data sets r as a client t Internet data and map servers. With ArcExplrer yu can: Freely distribute the ArcExplrer installatin and yur data CDs s recipients can view yur data effectively. Display and query a variety f standard data surces including: ESRI shapefiles ArcInf cverages ArcSDE layers Images ArcIMS Services (i.e., Gegraphy Netwrk surces) Pan and zm thrugh multiple map layers and identify, lcate, and query gegraphic and attribute data. Symblize yur data based n attributes cntained in yur data layers t create thematic maps. Perfrm basic spatial analysis tasks n the gegraphic data, such as selecting and buffering features. Dynamically, view yur data in different crdinate systems (with ArcExplrer-Java Editin fr Educatin). Fr free dwnlad, g t http://www.esri.cm/sftware/arcexplrer/dwnlad.html

ArcGIS Spatial Analyst ArcGIS Spatial Analyst prvides a brad range f pwerful spatial mdeling and analysis features. With it yu can: Create, query, map, and analyze cell-based raster data. Perfrm integrated raster/vectr analysis. Derive new infrmatin frm existing data. Query infrmatin acrss multiple data layers. Fully integrate cell-based raster data with traditinal vectr data surces. ArcGIS Spatial Analyst is integrated int the ArcGIS Desktp interactive mapping envirnment. This allws yu t perfrm spatial analytical tasks such as: Surface analysis Terrain analysis Map algebra Crime and Investigative Analysis Crime mapping prvides a valuable spatial element t crime analysis. GIS maps traditinal statistical infrmatin used in crime analysis, revealing crime patterns and relatinships. By lking at nnemergency service calls and nncriminal incidents n a map, yu can make better decisins n hw and where t place resurces. Yu can use GIS fr predictive mdeling t manage field assignments and investigative effrts. GIS analysis f traffic data assists in the identificatin f selective enfrcement lcatins. Gegraphical analysis f serial crime events in a metrplitan area. Fr example, ArcGIS Spatial Analyst helps yu examine lcatins f citatin issuance against accident lcatins, types f citatins issued, accidents invlving impaired drivers, and ther issues.

ArcGIS 3D Analyst ArcGIS 3D Analyst enables users t effectively visualize and analyze surface data. Using 3D Analyst, yu can view a surface frm multiple viewpints, query a surface, determine what is visible frm a chsen lcatin n a surface, and create a realistic perspective image draping raster and vectr data ver a surface. The cre f the 3D Analyst extensin is the ArcScene applicatin. ArcScene prvides the interface fr viewing multiple layers f three-dimensinal data and fr creating and analyzing surfaces. ArcGIS 3D Analyst prvides a suite f methds fr interactive perspective viewing and advanced tls fr three-dimensinal mdeling and analysis applicatins. ArcGIS 3D Analyst is integrated int the ArcGIS Desktp t allw yu t create dynamic and interactive maps that will elevate yur gegraphic visualizatin and analysis.

ArcPad StreetMap ArcPad StreetMap prvides U.S. street data, gecding, and ruting fr mbile technlgy users.
