Muhammad W. Ibrahim is the Director and R&D Manager of Target Exploration Consultants Ltd responsible for concessions evaluation, prospects generation, basins analyses, countries risk analysis, reservoirs and oil and gas fields studies. He received his BSc in Geology from the University of Baghdad. Joined and left the Geological Survey of Iraq after one year upon receiving a highly contested MoO-IPC scholarship to the Imperial College, University of London to study for his MSc, DIC and PhD in Petroleum Geology. Dr. Ibrahim joined King Abdul-Aziz University of Jeddah Saudi Arabia to establish and head the Department of Petroleum Geology soon after graduation, then moved to Mobil Oil Libya as Staff Geologist in 1982, where he learned and merged the old practices of Mobil Oil with his new academic knowledge to revise the geology of oilfields, propose and steer regional geochemical source rocks evaluation project; generate prospects and participate in oil discoveries. He became the acting Development Geology Group Superintendent before returning after seven prolific years to London to join LASMO, establish Target Exploration in 1990 and work with several oil companies. The Petroleum E&P Geology experience of Muhammad encompasses Proterozoic reservoir rocks of the Salt Basins of Oman to the Recent fluvial-deltaic sediments of the Mesopotamian Basin, and the rift basins fields of Libya and Sudan to Zagros-Taurus over-thrust fold belt fields of North Iraq. Dr Muhammad s numerous external publications and in-house software reflects his technical contributions while working at academia, research institutes and several exploration and production oil and gas companies: 2
