by Ammara by Austin The Jack-o-Lantern is Alone by Athena, There once was a jack-o-lantern who had a lot of friends. One day something happened. All of his friends disappeared. Jack didn t know where to find them. He looked everywhere until his candlelight grea dim. Jack asked the neighbors, the black alley cat, even the mean junk-yard dog, but no one knew anything. Jack noticed a dark shadow was following him everywhere he went, and he was getting scared. Jack hid in a garden shed behind a big flower pot and watched for the shadow to come, but it never did. Jack woke up the next day, still hiding in the shed. He peeked out and went on his way to look for his friends again. Jack remembered he forgot to look in one place, but it was very far and would be dark by the time he got there. He decided to go. As the day turned into night, Jack finally reached the pumpkin patch. This was the same place where Jack was born and grew up. But tonight it was dark and cold. He opened the gate and walked in. Jack wished his friends were with him. He was scared and lonely. He heard something very, very scary. It was someone groaning. He stopped then every one of his jack-o-lantern friends jumped up from the field and yelled surprise. Jack was so scared that his smile turned into a circle, but then he smiled again, because the surprise was a birthday party for him from all his friends. Jack and his friends had fun and danced all night. He was so glad that he found his friends and very happy that he would never be lonely again.

So that night they went trick or treating. They had so much candy they ll have some left over for next Halloween. When they got to the last house they asked the lady way time it was. She said it was 8:45. We have to get home. So they took the shortcut through the graveyard. And they heard something say give me the candy or I ll get you! So they ran and something got them.
