Aprovia Top for scab control Don t let fruit scab mar the quality of your crop apply Aprovia Top fungicide and protect it. Look to Aprovia Top for: Effective protection against apple scab and powdery mildew Protective and early curative activity against apple scab This document does not fully comply with all applicable guidelines for accessible digital documents: for an accessible version, visit Syngenta.ca or contact the Customer Interaction Centre at 1-87-SYNGENTA (1-877-964-3682).

Look to Aprovia Top for: Two modes of action to protect against apple scab and powdery mildew Protective and early curative activity against apple scab The translaminar activity of difenoconazole protects against disease by inhibiting the growth of mycelia. Difenoconazole is absorbed rapidly by the leaf and moves quickly from one side of the leaf to the other, protecting both leaf surfaces and providing excellent rainfastness. Solatenol moves quickly into the waxy layer of leaves. It slowly moves from the waxy layer into leaf tissue over time providing a constant level of disease control between sprays. Together, Solatenol and difenoconazole interact to provide broad-spectrum control in apples. Active ingredients: Solatenol (Group 7) Potent SDHI Difenoconaxole (Group 3) Another line of defense Metabolizes slowly for residual protection No known resistance to apple scab or powdery mildew Application rate: Aprovia Top is registered at very low use rates, ranging from 156 ml/ac to 260 ml/ac

Long-lasting activity against leaf and fruit scab Even under heavy scab pressure, Aprovia Top provides excellent preventive protection. Aprovia Top is a translaminar fungicide; it penetrates the leaf to provide protection on both sides. In addition, Aprovia Top sticks very well to the leaf surface, making it very rainfast. Preventive activity against disease Aprovia Top acts quickly, targeting disease spores before they can germinate on leaves. Untreated Treated with Aprovia Top Day 1 Healthy spore on apple leaf surface Day 5 Spore has germinated, hyphae grows Day 1 Dead spore on leaf surface treated with Aprovia Top Day 5 Spore is dead on leaf treated with Aprovia Top Early curative activity When applied preventively, Aprovia Top protects against spore germination and direct infection. Once the leaves or fruit become infected, Aprovia Top can stop mycelial growth but not control lesions that are already present. Spore Germination Infection Mycelium Growth Lesion Formation Sporulation Proactive/Preventive Timing Curative Timing Eradicative Timing Inhibition Less Activity

Application information Disease Rate Application timing Additional information Scab (Venturia inaequalis and V. pyrina) 386 643 ml/ha (156 260 ml /ac) Protective spray schedule: Apply every 7 10 days starting at ¼ ½" green tip or when environmental conditions become conducive for scab. Continue through petal fall until the threat of primary scab is complete. Forecasting spray schedule: Use a forecasting system beginning at green tip. Apply within 48 hours of the onset of an infection period. Apply a follow-up spray after seven days. If disease pressure is high, use the highest rate. For improved scab control, tank-mix Aprovia Top with a protectant fungicide registered for the disease. Alternaria blotch (Alternaria mali) Brooks fruit spot (Mycosphaerella pomi) Cedar apple rust (Gymnosporangium juniperi-virginianae) Flyspeck (Schizothyrium pomi) Powdery mildew (Podosphaera leucotricha) Quince rust (Gymnosporangium spp.) Sooty blotch (Gloeodes pomigena) 643 ml/ ha (260 ml/ac) Begin applications preventively. Apply Aprovia Top alone or in combination of other non-group 7 and non-group 3 fungicides. Use restrictions: 30-day PHI 12-hour REI A minimum of 375 L/ha of water is recommended for ground applications. Do not apply more than 2.57 L/ha (1.04 L/ac) of Aprovia Top per season. Do not make more than two consecutive applications before alternating to a non-group 7 and non-group 3 fungicide. At this time, Maximum Residue Limits (MRLs) for Aprovia Top fungicide have been established for markets in Canada and the United States.
