Contents Sneaky Red Chooks and the three Chinese gods in the sky. What s in the stars for you? Moon Gardening Planting and Sowing days this month What s That Star In The Sky with Venus getting cozy with Mars Your Special Birthday Greetings Gossip Corner.and there is lots to tell! Your Sun Sign Astrology Forecast February 2017 Aries 21 March 19 April This is a month of high energy especially when Venus enters your sign and increases your personal radiance which brings undivided attention. Venus will help all, except authority figures, smile upon you. Life for loved ones may seem to be in reverse and they will soon feel challenged, but its full steam ahead for you. Big ideas can be achieved. Taurus 20 April 20 May It s time to think carefully about your role and your work; paid or not. Does it satisfy? One day you will change it; perhaps not yet. But decide now what you would prefer to be doing. Family issues or dramas from long ago, probably those that vibrate through whole generations, are building and will soon need attention. Gemini 21 May 20 June Recent tensions have caused restlessness and it s time to think big. You have two different options open to you and one of them is to go for a holiday and simply escape. The other is to gain the knowledge, either by your own study, or by seeking advice. Knowledge is power, for the one who has the knowledge; has the power! Cancer 21 June 22 July On one hand, there is energy and coming changes in your zone of work. At first it smiles on you, so take advantage of that. Then later in the month it frowns at you so stay out of the firing line. On the other hand, there is a lot of energy around secrets, what you know and what you don t. Keep in balance. Leo 23 July 22 Aug Creativity is blocked and this is a serious practical time, with loved ones having different needs to yours. It may feel limiting and emotions may run high, but for you a serious approach is now needed. To be ahead of the game go out of your way to gain extra knowledge. Take time out to rejuvenate your batteries.

Virgo 23 Aug 22 Sep Time to focus on the ordinary rituals, habits and responsibilities of life. For you, this duty is a big word! Remember that one of them is your health and while you may not think it s a priority, I do. This is a great time to start a new healthy lifestyle, or get rid of a bad habit, and to do it easily. Libra 23 Sep 22 Oct This is a great time to share good times or celebrations with partners. Some issues can come from the home or family, as both need maintenance! Your family roots as well as the actual home you live in need to be repaired. Either get in a handyperson or have the last word in an argument. and say sorry. Scorpio 23 Oct 21 Nov What is enough? A king can bemoan a lack of money and a beggar can celebrate abundance. It s all in the perspective ones takes. Something around the home, youthful, risky or simply good old fashioned fun, could be costing you. Know your limits then settle back and enjoy the ride; for serious duties are just around the corner. Sagittarius 22 Nov 21 Dec Yes, a new future beckons but for now it s time to make decisions and get serious, and that means making hard decisions. Have you decided to hold? Or to let go? This time will have long term consequences and it s never too late to make an adjustment. Be prepared that something good will involve a cost, so squirrel some money away. Capricorn 22 Dec 19 Jan Beware of rash or hasty decisions as the cost will be greater than you expect. An increase of energy around the family home can either cause emotional friction or the desire to do some repairs and renovations. You want the atmosphere to improve and a fight never improves it, while discussions or a clean-up can lead to greater harmony. Aquarius 20 Jan 18 Feb Challenges drive us to ask the right questions and Yes, you are worthy of being you, of achieving your dream, of standing firm, of going to the next level! This is the time to ask the questions and grow in selfunderstanding and self-knowledge. Journeys can be taken both in body and in mind. Which one are you on? Pisces 19 Feb 20 March This is a perfect time to start something new, and to begin a plan or project or a new activity. But it s not a good time to make rush decisions with finances; unless it s a new budget plan! Yes, budgets are boring I know, but don t let it hold you back. Grow yourself in the direction that you wish to go. We do not go around the Sun in a perfect circle each year so the dates that the Sun appears to move into the signs can vary by up to one day. If you are born close to the border of two signs, then you are on the cusp and you are a blend of the two sun signs. It s time to see what s happening for you. In my work I will always use both Astrology and Palmistry. The Stars show your

potential and your hands show how you grab hold of life. Through them we look to your strengths, especially now and to the future, and to see what to avoid, and what to enjoy. Moe at Gippstown on the Highway Weekdays by appointment in the beautiful and peaceful grounds of Gippstown Heritage Village on the highway at Moe. Phone readings for those at a distance at a time that suits you. Quote of the Month: Take chances, make mistakes. That's how you grow. Mary Tyler Moore This bright sassy lady opened doors which helped women gain recognition and respect. Birthday Greetings go out to Aquarius 20 Jan 18 Feb You do not merely want to be considered the best of the best, You want to be considered the only one who does what you do. Jerry Garcia from the Grateful Dead I give thanks to the Aquarian who stood tall, rose above the tentacles holding her to the past, and happily does what she does in her own unique way. Channel the energy of an Aquarian by allowing yourself to be unique. Pisces 19 Feb 20 March The gift of fantasy has meant more to me than my talent for absorbing positive knowledge. Albert Einstein. I give thanks to the Pisceans who sees the beauty and feels the joy in the simple things such as the early morning fog drifting towards the milking shed at 4.30am! Channel the energy of a Piscean by noticing the fantasy, the little messages of beauty that this beautiful world gives us. Gossip Corner What am I getting up to? Everything! Ancient Moon Gardening Gazing out the window I can see the veggie patch and this month the sweet corn is growing fantastic, the beans are producing madly, the strawberries and succulent and the apples are the best I ever had. I am freezing lemon juice ready for the coming months without lemons as I love the juice in my daily water jug. But the tomatoes are slow...plenty of flowers, but normally I would be knee deep in cooking pasatta by now. Watching nature and plants grow is a metaphor for life and this month I was reminded that when its it a good season for one thing it will be a bad season for another. The trick is to make the most of what is growing well in life, and make the best of what is growing slowly in life. Kerry Galea www.ancientmoongardening.com.au News from the Stars 4th Feb Venus enters Aries 6th Feb Jupiter turns retrograde 7th Feb Mercury enters Aquarius 18th Feb Sun enters Pisces 11th Feb Full Moon in Leo with Lunar Eclipse not visible in Australia 22nd Feb Mars square Pluto 26th Feb Mercury enters Pisces 27th Feb New Moon in Pisces with Solar Eclipse not visible in Australia

27th Feb Mars conjunct Uranus 28th Feb Mars opposite Jupiter The movement of the planets herald time when we feel mood changes, times we are galvanized to take action, and others times when we lack energy. There are shifts in feelings and energy levels at all New and Full Moons, when planets move into signs, or when there are connections (aspects) between planets, or when they turn retrograde or move direct again. Pay attention to the days when these shifts happen and notice your feelings and energy levels. This understanding will enhance your experience of life. To further experience the rhythm of the Moon I suggest that you aim to start new projects and events at the New Moon, and bring them to full development approximately two weeks later at the Full Moon. From the Full Moon back to the New Moon is a time to look at the consequences, to reflect on what you achieved and to think about changes or new ideas that you will birth again at the New Moon. Enjoy the ride! What s that Star in the sky this February? To be amazed by the heavens, first get your bearings and note that North is the warmest side of the house. Face north and on your right, is the east where the Sun rises, and on your left, is west where the sun sets. Behind you is south. The brightest night is with the Full Moon on the 11th Feb and the darkest night is on the New Moon on the 27th Feb. For all you Night Owls All the action is happening in the west in the first half of the month just after sunset. We have a close association of the Goddess of Love, the God of War and the nurturing Moon all very cozy, and beautiful to see. Lowest and brightest is Venus and just above her is reddish Mars. We begin the month with the Moon aligning with Mars. They disappear in the early evening but as a reward just for you I have organized the appearance of The Saucepan (Orion s Belt), along with Taurus and the Pleiades. If you draw an imaginary line through the bottom of the saucepan and follow it to the ground you will pass by Aldebaran, in the eye of Taurus the Bull, and you will pass through the Pleaides. Aldebaran, Arabic for follower, is thought to be so named as it is forever chasing the Pleiades across the heavens. The Pleiades are also called the Seven Sisters who in mythology are always fleeing Orion as the night passes. There are similar stories in indigenous Australian mythology of a hunter (or a fishermen) chasing seven women! Amazingly these stories began when there was no (supposedly) contact between the Greeks and the Aborigines. Maybe history, global mythology and the skills of ancient people (especially as travelers), needs to be rewritten. Follow the line though the base of the saucepan upwards and you will find Sirius, the brightest star in the night sky. He is known as the Dog Star and Harry Potter fans will understand the literary association. Clever! The Southern Cross is swinging low and may be difficult to see but it is always in our night sky, so stand on tippy-toes. For all you Early Birds Look up to the north to see Jupiter shining overhead. On your left (west) is the bright star Regulus, in the heart of Leo the Lion. On your right and overhead is the Scorpion poised to strike at any perceived threat. Lower to the left (west) is creamy colored Saturn. The Moon joins Jupiter on the 16th February and joins Saturn on the 21st February. Look south to see The Southern Cross which is high in the sky and right side up making it worthwhile being up so early.

Let yourself be awed! kerrygalea.com.au Chinese New Year The Chinese New Year began on 28 th January and it s the Year of the Fire Rooster. Forgive me as I should have told you this in January. I am used to it starting in February so it snuck up on me! Fancy a Fiery Chook sneaking up on oneself! The Fire Rooster year is a year of being duty-bound, and learning about what and who to trust. Egos and those with strong personalities will dominate the news, (so true!) and authority figures will argue over who s the boss ; but overall it is a year of achievement and advancement. With our current world leaders let s keep our fingers crossed! The New Year celebrations end on the Full Moon on 11 th February with a Lantern Festival and the famous Dragon Dance where fire crackers are set off to frighten away evil spirits. The Chinese New Year aligns with the appearance of the three stars of Orion s belt appearing at sunset in China. We call these stars the base of the saucepan. The Chinese see these stars as the three gods of fortune, prosperity and longevity. Imbolic otherwise known as Groundhog Day 2 nd Feb This is a cross quarter day mid-way between the December Solstice and March Equinox in the Northern Hemisphere. The Imbolic festival (or St. Brigid s Day) is a traditional Gaelic festival marking the beginning of spring. Groundhog day is celebrated in USA where according to folklore, if it is sunny, a groundhog taken from its burrow will supposedly see its shadow, and retreat back into its den. This means that winter weather will persist for six more weeks. Quick Trick To Reduce Anxiety Take 6 deep breaths all the way into your abdomen.. it s easy and it has been scientifically proved to reduce anxiety! Try it now.. right now And let yourself be blessed. Recipe for Happiness Wake up and before you open your eyes, smile yes move those endorphin producing facial muscles; and smile. Say thank you and give gratitude to the whole universe. Smile again See in your mind s eye the day s activities and imagine them unfolding with ease and harmony. Thank You to those that keep me healthy! Your body is a temple so do something that helps you maintain great health.
