1. General directions. The night vision sight PN-6K (hereinafter referred to as sight ) is designed for pointing hunting weapons with side mount such as Tiger, Saiga and Vepr. Operating temperature: -50 C to +40 C. WARNING: It is strictly prohibited to switch on the sight in the daytime without the protective cup on the lens as well as to observe the bright luminous objects such as straight headlight, campfire etc. 4

3. DELIVERY SET Night Sight PN-6K Control devise UK - 316 1 Eyeshield Wrench Napkin Bag Box 1 Servise manual 4. Safety regulations The device is safe to handle due to its principle of operation, design, components and materials used. To avoid a pollution of environment it is recommended to utilize out the used supply cells only in the places assigned for waste utilization. 6
5. Design and principle of operation Night sight PN-6K is an electrooptic device. Its principle of operation is based on the intensification of image brightness by image intensifier. The objective sight consists of lens, image intensifier (II), eyepiece and AA power supply mounted into the housing. 6. Pre-starting procedure and operation Sight is mounted on a weapon by means of a clamp which consists of bracket 16 (Fig.1,2), lock screw 12, latch 13, lock lever 14, handle 15 and washer 11. Mount the sight on a weapon in the following order: - pull the handle 15; - direct the sight from the butt side into aligning bar of a weapon and push the sight forward to stop; - push the handle 15 up untill snaps to the bracket; - check up the reliability of sight fastening. 7
Swinging of the sight on a weapon is not permitted. For reliable fastening of the sight, it is necessary to adjust the clamp in the following order: - take off the sight from a weapon; - unlock the latch 13; - shift the handle 15 by teeth number providing the reliable fastening; - lock the latch 13; - check up the reliability of sight fastening again. For mounting the sight and checking its effictency under daylight conditions do folloving: - put the cup with light filter on the lens; - remove the cover 8 and insert the battery as shown on the cover of the sight; - screw up the cover 8; - switch on the switch 7. In 3-4 seconds the eyepiece field of view should begin to shine with yellowgreen light and red aiming reticule; - adjust the optimal contrast of aiming reticule by means of turning the 8
handwheel 17; - if the sight is switched an, the screen shines, but the reticle is inveisible. the battery should be replaced. Warning: the reticule extinction indicates the discharge of battery. The central peak of reticule is assigned for sighting. The sight should be aligned to the weapon by means of zeroing. Zeroing is carried out in the daytime and only with the light filter cap put on It is done, in the following order: - set the target of approximately 1x1 m at a distance of 100 m; - make 3-4 shots aiming the peak of the reticle to the centre of the target; - determine the center of impact by holes in the target. If the center of impact has a difference with the aiming mark exceeding 3 cm, the alignment of the sight is needed. It is carried out by means of turning the screws of vertical and horizontal adjustment mechanisms. One click of the center of impact by 3 cm ata range of 100 m. Make the batch of check shooting. Grouping of sight aimed shooting should not be worse than without sight. 9
No adjustment should be made after zeroing. While shooting at a range exceeding 100 m keep zeroing but choose the second aiming point corresponding to the range of target (Fig.3). The sight canbe used without a light filter 1 (Fig.2) Only in the night time with illumination up to 10-2 lux. The sight is provided with a control devise UK - 316 intended for ckecking the charge of the battery. There are four lights an tne boord of UK - 316 (Fig.4) showing the voltage. When necessary, install the battery into the UK - 316 keepting in mind the polarity. The light, which blazes up shows the level of the charge. After using the sight, turn the switch 7 (Fig.2) into OFF position. 10
7. Maintenance The device should be kept clean of dust and dirt. The outer surfaces of the optical parts should be always clean. Warning: It is prohibited: - to disassemble the sight; - to switch on the sight in the daytime without protective cap and light filter;on; - to apply exceeding force to clamp; - to use a battery of improper type; - to keep a battery into the unused sight for a long time The sight is the subject of following periodic maintenance procedure: - clean the sight from dust, dirt and moisture; - check the contacts of power supply; - wipe grease spots on optical surfaces by clean napkin; in case of significant pollution alcohol can be used; 11

8. Storage The sight must be protected from the mechanical damages. The sight is to be stored in a heated room. Ambient temperature must be from 5 to 35 C. Relative humidity must not exceed 85%. It is recommended to keep the sight in its carrying bag with no a battery in it. 9. Troubleshooting In case of a disorder check the follows: - the mounting of the sight on the weapon; - whether the protective cup with light filter is put on; - the cleanness of optical surfaces; - possible discharging of the battery; - whether the power supply is switched on; - the cleanness of contacts of power supply. 17
Possible malfanctions and methods of elimination are listed below. Table 1 trouble possible cause method of elimination 1) Incorrect setting of battery The screen of image intensifier does not shine The image brightness rises to maximum and falls down fast or fluctuates disturbing the sight operation 1) Check The battery setting keeping in mind the polarity 2) Battery is discharged 2) Replace the battery 3) Image intensifier doesn' t work Light overload operable 3) Send the sight to a repair shop Put the cup with light filter on the lens of the sight 18
