Who we are : A company introduction CAL3K Oxygen Bomb Calorimeter Systems Introducing the CAL3K range of oxygen bomb calorimeter systems from DDS Calorimeters DDS and CAL3K offers the new next generation advanced bomb calorimeter system with innovative technology and never before seen advanced features. The CAL3K range makes is possible to achieve a 5-6 minute operator time per test without compromising its accuracy or precision. After numerous determinations/sample analysis the vessel temperature rises and needs to be cooled for the next sample analysis. The external air cooler ensures that the vessel temperature is cooled to firing temperature in preparation for the next firing. Convenient Waterless System - The oxygen calorimeter is operated without water. No measuring, spilling or leaking. The calorimeter is ready to use without needing to fill it with water, reducing sample preparation time. The new air cooler also operates without water. The entire CAL3K calorimeter system requires no water making it environmentally friendly. Our CAL3K bomb calorimeters are designed to endure and sustain large pressure increases inside the calorimeter combustion chamber.
The bomb vessel is pressurized with 30Bar of pure oxygen in the initial period of the determination. The sample is then ignited in the firing period with electrical energy. During the main period the vessel is heated from the combustion of the sample. The pressure of the vessel rapidly increases with relation to the type of sample being burnt. A bomb calorimeter basically consists of a cup (crucible) to hold the sample, deflector plate, oxygen, a stainless steel bomb vessel, the insulating aluminium sleeve, the electronic controller card and the ignition system connected to the outside of the bomb for igniting the sample. One of the CAL3K-AP features is a micro-processor in the base of the bomb vessel for the automatic measurement of the calorific value of the sample. This unique design ensures no energy is lost or gained in the determination cycle, increasing the repeatable accuracy of the bomb vessel. CAL3K Features The improved calorimeter system requires no water - that means no more leaks, spillage or measuring as the calorimeter has no water bucket. The new Isobatic calorimetry method combines the benefits of the Isothermal and Adiabatic methods to produce extremely accurate results at the highest speed possible. The Bayonet Oxygen Bomb Vessel is automatically filled and de-filled inside the calorimeter (only in the CAL3K-AP calorimeter). There is no need for an additional filling station as everything is done automatically inside the calorimeter. The dual language mode allows for English and one alternative language with help in different languages. A new features in our next generation oxygen calorimeters is the support of a mobile/smartphone device. A smart mobile device can now connect via Bluetooth and interface with the calorimeter to give you up to date information straight from the calorimeter. The CAL3K features full LIMS support for the assignment, scheduling and tracking of analytical samples and the associated analytical workload, as well as the storage of data associated with sample analysis. A Greener Future The CAL3K Oxygen Bomb Calorimeter's small carbon footprint takes a step towards a greener future with lower power consumption. The calorimeter and cooler can run on 7AH (Amps per hour) for about 4 hours, and in the event of a power failure the calorimeter can run on a 12V battery.

Cal3k - AP CAL3K-U Oxygen Bomb Calorimeter Cal3k - U CAL3K University Edition - Oxygen Bomb Calorimeter for Today's Analytical Needs. The CAL3K-U is the third in the range of innovative oxygen bomb calorimeters from DDS. It is the companion to the CAL3K-AP and CAL3K-A, but with external oxygen filling and without ATC. The new range, from the engineers who designed the CAL2K oxygen bomb calorimeter range, features higher speeds and improved accuracy with a small carbon footprint (uses less resources; no water required, lower power consumption). The external filling removes the pressure component from the CAL3K-U and has resulted in a more robust combustion calorimeter.
