Read this account to know more about the monster. The Loch Ness Monster... a mystery Mystery surrounds the Loch Ness, a fresh water lake in the Scottish highlands. Many people in Scotland claim to have seen a monster in the lake. On 4 August 1933, a man called George Spicer claimed to have seen a huge animal, while driving around the lake with his wife. He said the animal resembled a dragon or pre-historic animal trundling across the road toward the lake carrying an animal in its mouth. Other people began writing in the newspapers claiming to have seen the Surgeon's Photograph monster. These stories soon reached the national press which named it "monster fish", "sea serpent" or "dragon. It finally got the name "Loch Ness Monster". Some people called it Nessie. One of the most famous pictures of Nessie is known as the "Surgeon's Photograph. A Dr. Wilson was sitting by the lake when he saw the monster. He grabbed his camera and snapped five photos. There was only one clear picture of the monster. Stories about the monster are being told all the time though no one knows if they are true. The mystery continues... A.
