Peddie Summer Day School Course Syllabus: BIOLOGY Teacher: Mr. Jeff Tuliszewski Text: Biology by Miller and Levine, Prentice Hall, 2010 edition ISBN 9780133669510 Guided Reading Workbook for Biology ISBN 9780133687187 This class is a survey course in Biology. The course is intended to provide students with a familiarity of the major topics of a Biology course, while providing supporting details when necessary. Topics will be covered mostly with lecture, activities and workbook assignments. Students will be assessed using tests, activities, and homework assignments. Students are required to bring their textbook, notebook, provided handouts, and workbook to class each day. Grading is determined on a points-based system. Each assignment is assigned a point value and student grades are calculated as the number of points earned, divided by the total possible points, multiplied by 100. Letter grades are assigned according to the Peddie summer school grade scale. This syllabus is only a guide. Topics and schedule are subject to change.
