(Shout "you" and Jump up with arms extended) (Say it in a quiet, spooky voice and finish with a shout. The kids love it.) October Time October time is pumpkin time, The nicest time of the year. When all the pumpkins light their eyes (encircle eyes) And grin from ear to ear. (big grin) Because they know at Halloween They'll have lots of fun, Peeking through the windowpanes (put hands over eyes and look) Watching children run! One Little Ghost One little ghost flew down the street. (Wave hand through the air.) "I wonder," he said, "what I will meet-- (Place finger to temple, thinking.) Black Cat (Tune: Mary Had a Little Lamb) We saw a black cat, black cat, black cat. We saw a black cat on Halloween. He was stretching his paws, his paws, his paws. I sneak up on the porch, I knock right on the door. I fill my sack with lots of treats, and dash away for more. (Repeat) Five Little Pumpkins... (Hold up fingers for pumpkins) Sitting on a wall; (have a child sit down) Tip and Fall; (have child tip over) Rolling down the street; (child rolls on floor) Trick or Treat!!! Three Little Witches... JACK-O-POEM (Mke a construction paper or paper plate face for each expression with corresponding drawing of face, staple it to a tongue depressor, and then use expressive voices while holding up the face that goes with the poem. We also wrote the names of the faces on the back.) I am Jack-o-Happy (use very happy voice) I am Jack-o-Sad ( use crying, whiney voice) I am Jack-o-Sleepy (use yawning, sleepy voice) I am Jack-o-Mad (use growling, angry voice) I am Jack-o-Pieces (use broken word, cut word voice) I am Jack-o-Small (use teeniest tiny voice) I am Jack-o-Pie, the Best of them All!
