Origins of unclean spirits

Unclean spirits began to manifest themselves openly during Jesus ministry

What is the origin of these spirit beings? From where do they come from?

Jude makes reference to these unclean spirits angels who did not keep their own domain, but abandoned their proper abode Jude 6

These spirits came down These are the fallen ones

Moses makes references to these spirits saying they are The fallen ones [who] were in the earth in those days.. Genesis 6.4 Moses is referring to the days of Noah

Genesis 6.4 even afterwards Moses now makes a broader reference to our days. The days in which we now live

These spirit beings had another function and purpose but abandoned that purpose.

These came in to the daughters of men, and they bore to them. Genesis 6:4

they will mingle with the seed of men; but they will not adhere to one another, just as iron does not mix with clay. Daniel 2:43 44

The product of that union is mentioned throughout the Scriptures

A race of beings existed in the earth that God wanted Israel to exterminate.

In the fourteenth year Chedorlaomer and the kings that were with him came and attacked the Rephaim the Zuzim and the Emim. Genesis 14:5

Deuteronomy 3:13 All the region of Argob, with all Bashan, was called the land of the giants.

Joshua 12:4 Og king of Bashan and his territory, was of the remnant of the giants, who dwelt at Ashtaroth and at Edrei.

The twelve spies reported seeing them we saw the Nephilim (the fallen ones) Numbers 13.33

These unclean spirits come from another realm or dimension. They have disrobed and are seeking to be clothed again

They are seeking mingle with mankind

These unclean spirits seek habitation They want to be clothed It is for this reason, because of the Angels (Nephilim)

that Paul says a women requires a symbol of [SPIRITUAL] authority over her to cover her from these fallen ones

So these spirits are still here in this realm they cannot go back to their domain.

These are springs without water and mists driven by a storm, for whom the black darkness has been reserved. 2 Peter 2:17

Peter said: God did not spare angels committed them to pits of darkness, 2 Peter 2:4

Jesus has prepared for them eternal fire which is prepared for the devil and his angels. Mathew 25.41

Spiritual Hierarchy

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

The unclean spirit world These unclean spirits began to manifest during the ministry of Jesus Christ. Unclean spirits existed during the Old Testament era however, there was no deliverance since Jesus Christ had not yet come and accomplished the victory on the cross over death, principalities and powers.

Before deliverance was available A person was considered δαιμονίζομαι by a δαίμων (posessed by a devil) Possession does not mean ownership but merely subject to demonic influence

Greek word δαιμόνιον is translated as evil spirit. However, a demon (δαιμόνιον) is broadly understood as an evil or an unclean spirit.

During the period of the Old Testament Era A person possessed by a devil was put to death on the testimony of two or three witnesses. There was no mercy. Deuteronomy 17.6

Under the New Covenant We have been granted Mercy deliverance and forgiveness through the completed work of Jesus Christ on the cross.

Unclean spirits are not visible so their manifestation is understood by other means Unclean spirits manifest in tangible ways through physical symptoms such as blindness, deafness, paralysis, loss of speech sickness, seizures, alzheimer s, bipolar, and schizophrenia etc.

Unclean spirits seek to occupy a vessel. Unclean spirits manifest only when they enter the body and through the emotions.

Consequently. When these symptoms manifest through a person, that person is said to be δαιμονίζομαι (pronounced dai.mon.iz.omai) possessed by a demon (δαίμων).

The existence of physical infirmities is to be understood as the work of Satan. Possession should be understood in the context of physical manifestations and symptoms NOT OWNERSHIP OF SOMEONES BODY

Unclean spirits cause infirmities Jesus affirms a sickness is caused by an unclean spirit by saying: "there was a woman who for eighteen years had had a sickness caused by a spirit; and she was bent double, and could not straighten up at all." Luke 13.11

Unclean spirits hold in bondage Jesus goes on to say that Satan had her bound: " And this woman, a daughter of Abraham as she is, whom Satan has bound for eighteen long years, should she not have been released from this bond " Luke 13.16

When Jesus came He spoke about setting us free from Bondage " The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed;" Luke 4:18, NKJV

Unclean spirits that violate the personality of an individual.

Unclean spirits may also manifest in other ways Such as through fear, lust, lying, perversion, selfish ambitions, rebellion, disorder, strife, pride, jealousy immorality, sensuality greed deceitfulness etc. These spirits violate the personality of an individual.

Before Jesus came there is was no deliverance from those under the influence of unclean spirits He accomplished a victory over unclean spirits. He disarmed Principalities and Powers. He gave us the power and authority to cast out the unclean spirits. Colossians 2.15 Luke 10.19

POWER AND AUTHORITY We have this Power when we are Baptized in the Holy Spirit. We have the Authority in the name of Jesus. Acts 1.8 Mark 16.17

The ministry work of Jesus Jesus, with authority and power commanded the unclean spirits to come out. Luke 4.36

Authority is transferred Jesus gave the twelve disciples authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal every kind of disease and every kind of sickness. Matthew 10.1

Mark records. "And He appointed twelve, so that they would be with Him and that He could send them out to preach, and to have authority to cast out the demons." Mark 3:14-15, NASB95

The authority extends beyond the inner circle of the twelve Luke records, when the seventy disciples returned from the various vicinities saying to Jesus, Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name. Luke 10.17

No Exclusions in the name of Jesus EVERY disease and EVERY sickness MUST come subject to the NAME OF JESUS. There is nothing that can exalt itself against the Name of Jesus in the age or the age to come. Ephesians 1.21

In the Pulpit Preaching the Gospel INLCUDES CASTING OUT DEMONS! Jesus said: as you go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. Heal the sick, raise the dead, and cleanse the lepers, cast out demons Matthew 10:7-8

No Power in the Pulpit So why is there NO POWER in the pulpit? The quick answer is DOUBT. YOU MUST HAVE FAITH.

No Power in the Pulpit Why can t the sick and infirmed come into the Church for deliverance from the torment of unclean spirits? The answer: No Holy Spirit NO POWER.

Endued with POWER There MUST be the presence of the Holy Spirit; the POWER MUST BE PRESENT to heal. Luke 5.17

But there s more Some unclean spirits ONLY go out only with prayer and fasting. Minister need to live a Holy Life consecrated and set apart for the Lord. Mathew 17.21 1 Peter 1.16

You MUST BELIEVE if you come believing, then " These signs will accompany those who have believed: in My name they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover. " Mark 16:17-18

No Distinction Jesus did not make a distinction between healing a sickness and casting out an unclean spirit. We do not have to debate whether or not and unclean spirit causes a symptom we simply have to be obedient

Casting out demons is not an OPTIONAL EXTRA its part of the GOSPEL "And they were casting out many demons and were anointing with oil many sick people and healing them." Mark 6:13, NASB95

You are MORE than CONQUERORS THROUGH Christ Jesus "For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God " 2 Corinthians 10:4-5, NKJV

We have authority through Jesus Christ He gave US AUTHORITY. The Bible says we are seated with Christ in heavenly places. This means as believers, we are seated with Christ in our AUTHORITY. Ephesians 2.6

Seated with Christ Our positional authority is the same as Christ s authority

Christ fills us with His Spirit and send us out

A disciple is not above his master Jesus sends into the world as He was sent fourth and that is to do the works He did. John 20:21

He said we would do greater works that He did (John 14.12) It is like a man away on a journey, who upon leaving his house and putting his slaves in charge, assigning to each one his task, also commanded the doorkeeper to stay on the alert." Mark 13.34

In other words He gave us the authority to do the work at hand. He gave US AUTHORITY It was His authority we are given.

These unclean spirits are seeking to be watered they roam about through waterless places seeking rest. Matthew 12.43 and Luke 11.24

Holy Spirit filled believers have authority and power to successfully cast out any of these evil spirits these unclean spirits are disarmed, they are POWERLESS

Jesus gave us AUTHORITY and POWER over these spirits

Jesus disarmed them [principalities and powers] Colossians 2.15 We have the power and authority over them

Jesus said Behold, I have given you authority and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you. Luke 10.19
