Numerical modeling of submarine permafrost dynamics and two-phase flow of salinity-driven pore fluid and methane gas migration along the shallow Arctic continental shelf. 2009- Graduate Student Researcher (M.S.) 2010 Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of California, Berkeley Numerical modeling of topography- and fracture-driven pore fluid focusing in compacting anisotropic marine sediments. Numerical study of cosmogenic radioisotope 129-iodine and methane transport in compacting marine sediments and its implications on the age and methane source for gas hydrates. 2007- Undergraduate Research Assistant (B.S.) 2008 Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Illinois, Chicago Research Advisor Dr. Francis Loth Designed and constructed a pressure sensor for measurement of pressure wave velocity in a compliant coaxial tube system, as part of a larger project on the fluid dynamics of cerebral spinal fluid. Assisted with a numerical study of blood vessel wall shear stress induced by turbulent blood flow, as part of a larger project on biomechanical mechanisms in arteriovenous graft failure.
