FLOWSIC600 For Custody Transfer and Process Applications Many years of experience and continuous improvement of the measuring technique have led to a new generation of ultrasonic gas flow meters the FLOWSIC600. Already the visual impression shows the compact design with consealed cabling system which provides a trouble-free and low-maintenance use under the harsh industrial conditiones. The FLOWSIC600 can be equipped with 1, 2 or 4 measuring paths that offers the usage from custody transfer applications up to measurements with less precision requirements. The standard installation length of 3D allows to replace existing turbine meters without pipe readjustments. Because adjustable impulse outputs or Modbus connections are available, installed flow computers can be used furthermore. FLOWSIC600 benefits at a glance FLOWSIC600 applications Bi-directional measurement, no pressure drop Path layout without reflection High efficient transducers Less sensitive for ultrasonic noise Wide measuring range up to 1:120 No damage when overranged Integrated logbook and 4 volume counters Intelligent self diagnosis Low power consumption <1 W Calibration with air at atmospheric pressure possible Custody transfer (fiscal metering) Check metering on- and offshore Allocation metering offshore Underground gas storage (bi-directional) Power plants and other large industrial users Chemical and Refinery Industry Cryogenic gas applications up to 194 C (-317 F) Process gases like N 2, O 2, H 2, CO 2, Cl 2, Ethylene, etc. Gases with high content of H 2 S like sour gas or biogas Operating principle Two ultrasonic transducers, which are installed under an angle to the flow axis, operate alternately as a transmitter and receiver. The signals transmitted through the gas accelerate in the direction of flow and decelerate against the direction of flow. The resulting difference in propagation times is used to determine the mean gas velocity. The cross-sectional area yields the volumetric flow during operation. The measurement result is not affected by the pressure, temperature, or gas composition. To increase the accuracy of the measurement, the gas velocity is measured with multiple paths. Direct path layout no reflection The FLOWSIC 600 is designed as a direct path ultrasonic meter. Because the signals are not reflected inside the measuring pipe, contamination or changes in wall roughness do not affect the measurement characteristics or longterm stability of the measuring system. In addition, the layout of the measuring paths improves the signal-to-noise ratio. This makes the FLOWSIC600 substantially less sensitive to control valve noise. Redundancy The FLOWSIC 600 can easily be extended to a redundant system. This can be achieved by adding a second electronics and associated transducers in the free part of the X-shaped measuring section. As a result, the main and the additional meter form a redundant system which is integrated in one meter body. Extraction tool Using this tool, the ultrasonic transducer can be exchanged under operational pressure. The FLOWSIC600 does not need to be switched off, and provides data furthermore. MEPAFLOW600 software The MEPAFLOW600 software as an important component of the measuring system is the universal tool for parameterization and diagnosis of the FLOWSIC600. It records, manages and saves all data provided by the electronics. On this basis, potential equipment problems can be identified easily. Key diagnosis features Signal quality Signal-to-noise ratio Speed of sound Flow profile Profile factor Asymmetry Turbulence Configuration change Global support one button diagnosis All information you need to evaluate the status of the FLOWSIC600 can be stored in a file by clicking on one button. This file just send to one of our specialists - they will evaluate the data and inform you about required measures. FLOWSIC600 SICK MAIHAK
