One of the main algebra concepts used in linear models is the slope-intercept equation of a line. Section 1. Quadratic Models Graph of Quadratic Models The graph of a quadratic model alwas results in a parabola. The general form of a quadratic function is given in the following definition. A quadratic function is a function where the graph is a parabola and the equation is of the form: a b c where a b The -coordinate of verte is given b the equation: a The verte is the turning point on the graph of a parabola. If the parabola opens upward, then the verte is the lowest point of the graph. If the parabola opens downward, then the verte is the highest point on the graph.
