The NECLIME Conference (2 th Circular) Dear colleagues and members of NECLIME, It is our pleasure to inform you that the 15 th Annual NECLIME Meeting will be in İzmir (Turkey) from 19 th to 22 nd of October, 2014. Core topics Biodiversity changes in time and space This topic was at first raised within the NECLIME community on the Saint Petersburg meeting and a Sino-German Symposium held in Xishuangbanna, Yunnan, in spring 2013 mainly in the context diversity hotspot, and with a clear focus on Eastern Asia. The present core topic is intended to address biodiversity in a more general context regarding both flora and fauna. We invite contributions on Diversity of plant biomes and faunistic associations, Diversity of plant functional types, Definition of suitable indices, A possible special issue on the topic biodiversity will be discussed. 2

Regional environmental records of Anatolia This core topic includes reconstructions of vegetation and climate evolution based on plants, mammals, and other proxies in the context of a changing palaeogeography. We invite contributions on Neogene stratigraphy, sequence stratigraphy, and geometry of Neogene Basins Neogene palaeogeography Structural Geology, tectonic evolution, and palaeoelevation of the different structural units of Anatolia Regional response of the biota (flora, fauna) on palaeogeographic changes and on global climate changes General NECLIME topics As in each Annual NECLIME meeting, contributions on general topics related to NECLIME are welcome. In the frame of the given regional focus we invite contributions on vegetation and climate interactions, plant and evolution, driving mechanisms, development of open landscapes, evolution of wetlands, and climate change and variability in time and space. The Venue The NECLIME meeting will be held at the Dokuz Eylül University, Marine Science and Technology Institute, in İnciraltı-Balçova-İzmir, Turkey 3

All submitted abstracts will be published in an abstract volume of Neclime and Workshop. We would be happy to receive your abstract until June 15, at the latest. Conference fee The Conference fee of 75 EUR includes welcome party, two day lunches, historic city tour, abstract volume, coffee breaks, transport from Hotel Dokuz Eylül to Conferences Hall, and is payable on site. Travel and accommodation There are several, reasonably prized hotels nearby offering a good service. The international airport Adnan Menderes Airport in Gaziemir-İzmir is connected to the City Centre by public transport and HAVAŞ transport of the İzmir airport (10TL).
