Dry-Cntact switch Installatin Guide Overview The SlarEdge Smart Energy Management slutins allw increasing the self-cnsumptin f a site. One methd used fr this purpse is cntrlling the usage (cnsumptin) f lads using Device Cntrl prducts. The SlarEdge Device Cntrl units divert pwer t an appliance (lad) accrding t pre-cnfigured schedules, using the fllwing mdes: Refer t Figure 2 fr examples f the device mdes f peratin. Dry-Cntact switch Installatin Guide Schedule - TThe device turns n and ff at times set by the user fr the user s cnvenience, regardless f available PV pwer.w Smart Save - The device (typically a biler r water pump) is cntrlled autmatically t maximize selfcnsumptin. Grid pwer is used nly if PV pwer is insufficient t meet the user s ready by time. Fr example, t heat water fr 2 hurs and have ht water by 18:00, set Ttal Time t 2 hurs and Ready by t 18:00. The biler may wrk befre 16:00 if there is available PV pwer, but in any case yu are guaranteed t have ht water by 18:00.w Yu can re-cnfigure the schedules at any time and manually switch appliances n and ff. Yu can cnfigure the Device Cntrl prducts lcally thrugh the SlarEdge inverter r remtely, via the SlarEdge mnitring prtal. The SlarEdge Dry-Cntact switch (referred t as "the device") is a ZigBee wireless lad management device. It switches lads (e.g. a heat pump) n and ff accrding t system cnfiguratin. It can functin as an AC switch r as a cntrl signal t indicate when the PV system is prducing excess energy. It supprts a wide input vltage range f up t 250V and a wide input current range f up t 13A. Figure 1: SlarEdge System with Dry-Cntact switch SlarEdge-Dry-Cntact switch Installatin Guide 1

Installatin The fllwing figure illustrates a typical example f device peratin with Smart Save and Schedule mdes. Nte that in Smart Save mde, the cnsumptin is reduced by taking advantage f excess PV earlier in the day. Figure 2: Examples f device peratin T enable the Dry-Cntact switch functinality, the fllwing supprting devices must be installed: Device Cntrl ZigBee Mdule, installed inside the inverter. Dry-Cntact switch Installatin Guide CAUTION! This prduct must be perated under the specified perating specificatins, as described in the latest technical specificatin datasheet. Cnfigure the prduct s that the lad cnnected is nt switched n r ff mre frequently than specified by the lad manufacturer. D nt cnnect lads that require a cntinuus current supply (e.g. fridge, freezer). D nt use the prduct if it is damaged r malfunctining. Never cnnect lads that can cause injuries r fire if they are switched n unintentinally (e.g. an irn). D nt let the prduct cme int cntact with water r ther liquids. The enclsed dcumentatin is an integral part f this prduct. Keep the dcumentatin in a cnvenient place fr future reference and bserve all instructins cntained therein. 1. Release the tw screws f the device frnt cver and remve the cver. 2. Psitin the device against the wall and mark the drilling hle lcatins, at a maximum distance f 50 m frm the inverter. D nt use the device as a drilling template as it may damage the enclsure.e 3. Drill the hles and munt the device using screws and nuts. Fasten the unit t the wall. 4. Release the three internal screws at the bttm f the device, and remve the cable bracket. Figure 4: Dry-Cntact switch cnnectins SlarEdge-Dry-Cntact switch Installatin Guide MAN-01-00278-1.1 3

Cnfiguratin 5. Cnnect the lad wires t the terminal blcks (see Figure 4, Figure 5 and Figure 6 ):w 230 Vac (cnnectins 1,2 ) - t Line and Neutral. The cnnectins are interchangeable. Dry-cntact 250V / 13A maximum (cnnectins 3, 5) - t a dedicated vltage surce frm the appliance (see Figure 3), r an external pwer supply accrding t the input cntrl specificatins f the appliance (see Figure 4). Managed lad (cnnectins 4,6) -t the appliance input cntrl The tw switches have a single cntrl. That is, either bth are clsed r bth are pened. Figure 5: Cnnecting t appliance with internal vltage surce (Vut) Figure 6: Cnnecting t appliance with external vltage surce 6. Place the cable bracket ver the cables and fasten using the screws. 7. Attach the cver t the device and fasten the screws. Cnfiguratin NOTE Verify that the inverter is cnnected t the mnitring prtal (refer t the Inverter Installatin Guide fr details n setting up cmmunicatin). T assciate the device with the ZigBee netwrk: 1. Enter the inverter Setup mde as described in the Inverter Installatin Guide. 2. Select Cmmunicatin è ZigBee Cnf.. 3.
