Performance Ivan Čačić cacic @ cirus. dhz.hr
Performance Training Five-Day Programme Topics Introduction to the satellite systems Satellite data formats Climate applications
The Workshop noted Recomendations need for quality control and verification of surface observations on a daily basis such as temperature, solar radiation, precipitation and wind parameters derived from merged synoptic and satellite observations have additional value
Recomendations The Workshop recommends CM-SAF products should include more than mean values, such as standard deviations, frequencies, extremes and uncertainties CM-SAF should provide guidance on the use of existing and new products,, such as indicators for heat waves, frost damage, solar power, evaporation and drought
Recomendations The Workshop encourages CM-SAF to widen the distribution of information on its products issue a Newsletter to advertise new climate-related products and software tools for their visualization
Recomendations The Workshop encourages CM-SAF to establish Internet Forum on Climate matters Helpdesk to reflect evolving user requirements Virtual Focus Group to comprise climate product experts who will mainly communicate via Virtual Forum
Recomendations The Workshop encourages WMO to provide a catalogue of existing and potential products from all operational meteorological and environmental satellites EUMETSAT, CM-SAF and EUMeTrain to develop resources to enhance the effectiveness of training promote distance learning
Perspectives EUMETSAT continues to organize and support training events at two levels for beginners, similar in character to the first workshop held in Zagreb for more advanced users second Workshop planned in Zagreb / Dubrovnik for 2007
During the Workshop EUMETSAT has been officially notified by the Depositary of the EUMETSAT Convention that Croatian Parliment has ratified the accession agreement
During the Workshop Croatia officially has joined EUMETSAT as the 20 th full Member State Ivan Čačić cacic @ cirus. dhz.hr
