Name: Period: Continents, s, and Countries A Scavenger Hunt You will need a map of the world with the continents and oceans labeled to answer the following questions. 1. Which continent is the largest in the world? 2. This is a compass rose: It helps us tell directions on a map (North, South, West, and East). Use the compass rose to help you answer this question: Is Africa to the north or south of Europe? 3. Which ocean is located to the east of Africa? 4. Which continent is the farthest south? 5. Which ocean is the farthest north? 6. Which ocean lies in between North America and Europe? 7. We use imaginary lines on the Earth to make it easier to find specific locations. The line that runs across the middle of the earth is called the Equator. It splits the Earth into a top half and a bottom half. The Equator passes through parts of which 3 continents? a. b. c. There is also a line that splits the Earth into Western and Eastern Hemispheres. This line is called the Prime Meridian. Is South American in the western or eastern hemisphere? 10.
