Severe Weather - Central & Southern Plains Current Situation - May 6 & Continuing Severe thunderstorms continue across portions of Southern & Central Plains NWS received 69 preliminary tornado reports of over the last 3 days NWS and local storm damage surveys are underway Impacts include road closures, flooded structures and damaged vehicles/homes FEMA Region VI FEMA Region VI RRCC is activated to Level II (24/7) with ESFs 1,3,6,8,10,12 and DoD 2 LNOs deployed to OK EOC; 2 LNOs deploying to TX EOC IMAT-2 deployed to OK EOC; ISB Team identified & on Alert Oklahoma OK State EOC is Fully Activated (Level II; dayshift only) Governor declared a Disaster Emergency for 12 counties on May 7 Local damage assessments continue; media reports include varied numbers of homes damaged or destroyed OK City received 8 inches of rain, prompting Flash Flood Emergency for metro area No injuries or fatalities reported 3 (+1) shelter open with 44 (-34) occupants (ESF-6) Texas TX State EOC is Partially Activated (Level II); no significant/widespread damage

Tropical Storm Ana Tropical Storm Ana (as of 8:00 a.m. EDT) Located 100 miles SE of Myrtle Beach, SC Moving NNW at 5 mph; A turn toward the northwest with an increase in forward speed is expected today as Ana continues to approach the coastline Maximum winds near 60 mph with higher gusts A weakening trend is expected as Ana moves over cooler waters close to the coastline. Center will be near the Carolina coasts by Sunday morning Tropical Storm Watches & Warnings in effect for parts of the Carolinas Ana expected to produce rainfall of 2-4 inches, with isolated amounts of 6 inches, over eastern portions of NC & SC through the weekend Response FEMA Region IV RRCC is at Normal Operations South Carolina is monitoring; all other states remain at Normal Operations
