Eclipses Astronomy Eclipses occur bi-annually when Earth, Moon and Sun line up on the plane of the Ecliptic. Sun is 400 times larger than the Moon from Earth s perspective. Moon is 400 times closer to Earth than the Sun. Solar eclipses: occur up to 18 on either side of nodal axis 36 band and visible along a narrow path, only total along a 50 to 90-mile wide path. Annular eclipses: Ring of Sun visible, Moon at apogee (furthest from Earth). Total eclipses: Sun is not visible, Moon at perigee (closest to Earth). Lunar eclipses: occur up to 13 on either side of nodal axis 26 band and visible to an entire hemisphere.

Nodal Axis Eclipses Astronomy North Node eclipse season is when Sun is on the North Node. Emphasizes moving forward, developing ego. South Node eclipse season is when Sun is on the South Node. Emphasizes reviewing the past, releasing old ego. There are four to seven eclipses (solar and lunar) annually. Next year for seven eclipses is 2038.
Saros Eclipse Astronomy Saros = repeats, repetition. Saros series of solar eclipses start at one end of Earth s pole (north or south). Each Saros cycle starts with partial solar eclipses, to total solar eclipses, ending with partial solar eclipses. Each Saros cycle ends at opposite pole (north or south). A Saros cycle starting in northern hemisphere ends in southern hemisphere. A Saros cycle starting in southern hemisphere ends in northern hemisphere. Approximately 38-42 Saros series are active at any given time.
Saros Eclipse Astronomy A single Saros cycle lasts 11 to 14 centuries. Each solar eclipse is always on the same node of Moon (North Node or South Node). Solar eclipses repeat every 18 years, 8-11 days across the globe. Each solar eclipse moves 10-11 in the zodiac. Each Saros cycle moves one direction forward or backward in zodiac. Each cycle contains 70-73 solar eclipses.
Saros Eclipse Astronomy Astronomers label Saros series by number (ie 145). Lunar eclipses are contained within the Saros series. Astrologers label Saros series by originating from North Node (NN) or South Node (SN), followed by 1-19 (20, 21). Most include lunar eclipses within the Saros series. Saros Series145 Duration of Saros 145 is 1370 years. All solar eclipses occur at Moon s North Node, moving from north pole to south pole. Saros 145 started January 4, 1639 with a partial solar eclipse in northern hemisphere (closest to north pole).
