Welcome to MusiDigsSerif Versio. suite of Serif fots iteded for use with Noteworthy Composer ô*. What is cotaied: MusiDigsSerif: This is a alterative to Boxmars ad Boxmar2. It has several additioal characters but the oes commo to both fots are mapped the same so it ca be used as irect replacemet simply by chagig the fot selectio i page setup. MusiTextSerif: This is a text fot with the same character as MusiDigsSerif. MusiTextEuroSerif: This is a text fot with the same character as MusiDigsSerif but mapped differetly to MusiTextSerif to allow for Europea characters. MusiChordSerif: This is also a text fot i the same character as MusiDigsSerif but this fot is desiged with text chord costructio i mid. NWC2MusiDigsSerif: This is a alterative NWC2 system fot i the same character as SwigDigs. It ca be selected i NWC2 beta2.02 ad later i the Page Setup, Fots tab. NWCV: This is a replacemet for NWCV. This is the NWC versio of the NWC system fot. You must first remove the stadard NWCV i order to use it as the two caot co-exist. This is a limitatio of NWC (curret versio is.7) which will oly use a fot called NWCV thus the iteral ame must match. I recommed that you eep a bacup copy of the origial NWCV. To use the fots: MusiDigsSerif, MusiTextSerif, MusiTextEuroSerif, MusiChordSerif ad NWC2MusiDigsSerif ca simply be copied ito the Widows/Fots folder. The MusiDigs NWCV ca oly be istalled if NWC's NWCV is first removed. KEEP BCKUP OF THE ORIGINL NWCV!!! The appedices have the characters ad their Exteded umbers for each fot: ppedix is MusiDigsSerif ppedix 2 is MusiTextSerif ppedix 3 is MusiTextEuroSerif ppedix 4 is MusiChordSerif ppedix is NWC2MusiDigsSerif ppedix 6 is NWCVMusiDigsSerif ppedix 7 is part of a sample chart... Please ote, this example has NO post processig, it is exactly how I copied it from NWC2 prit preview. Pretty eat, huh? MusiDigsSerif, MusiTextSerif, MusiTextEuroSerif ad MusiChordSerif are character mapped the same as the equivalet fots i my SwigDigs suite. This was itetioal so that you ca chage betwee MusiDigsSerif ad SwigDigs by simply chagig the User fot settig i Page Setup. Usig the (exteded) codes i the appedices you ca eter ay character by holdig the <alt> ey ad typig the umber o the umeric eypad (NB some characters are padded with leadig 0's to mae 4 digits, ormally chr 028 (28) ad above). I order to access these fots i the most coveiet maer I suggest you obtai a copy of Typecase from here: http://www.bucrogers.demo.co.u/software/typecase.zip or ay umber of other places o the web. Ufortuately it will ot give access to all the MusiTextEuroSerif characters. However, the MusiTextEuroSerif fot is a character rather tha a symbol fot ad is mapped the same as rial thus if you ca access a character i rial, the, provided I've created its equivalet, you should be able to access it i MusiTextEuroSerif the same way. * ô Noteworthy Composer is a Trade Mar of Noteworthy Software, Ic.

Usage: s far as possible the glyphs are desiged to be placeable as text. If you eed a F 6/ chord you simply place the F ad the % from the MusiChordSerif fot i the appropriate locatio ad you will get: F% How about a Ma3 with a sharp th: R R i MusiChordSerif Or you may eed a text directive that you wat to mae stadout: ÖThiÜs is Üof iüterestá (chr 33)Thi(chr 34)s is (chr 34)of i(chr 34)terest(chr 3) Äso iås thisç µa d this adπ alsπo this s you ca see, some of the characters are larger tha the horizotal space they cosume which is why chr(33) ca exted from the left of the T all the way over to the i i This We ca also have some Europea characters for frieds who eed 'em: ÀÁÂÃÄÅÆÇÈÉÊËÌÍÎÏÐÑÒÓÔÕÖØÙÚÛÜÝÞßàáâãäåæçèéêëìíîïðñòóôõöøùúûüýþÿŒœŽžŸŠš ad we ca, of course, stic 'em i boxes ÀÁ Ÿß úûþ ÆÇäã ÕÔ ÄÅØß ÆÖ ŒŽ The i MusiDigsSerif itself we have a useful demo i the multibar rest. 4 examples: [8] [8] or,8.,8. or how about :8; :8; The 3rd example is quite eat. The : = : ad ; =; overlap quite istace... For a really looog multibar rest try: :------32------; :------32------; add as may '-' as you eed! I pairs is best. Of course there are always the ubiquitous rehearsal mars: B C D etc. or what about a staccatissimo or 2: ó ad ô Need a swig metroome mar? or µ I'm sure you ow get the idea. I hope you eoy the results... While I have primarily aimed these fots at NWC2, you ca use them with NWC ad they will wor equally well. I have icluded a versio of the NWCV system fot. t this poit I would lie to express my sicere appreciatio to Barry Graham ad Domiique (Marsu) Portier for their wor o Boxmars ad Boxmar2 which I have leaed heavily o. Rolf Miezitis for his wor o a upublished BoxmarZZ. Ideed, I borrowed some of their characters for SwigDigs which this suite is based o! The developers of FreeSerif also deserve recogitio. I have used their text characters as the basis for the textual portios of this suite. lso Robert Morris for his wor o NWCazz from which I leared how to replace the stadard NWC fots. Thas guys! I have also piced up ideas for useful characters from several other sources... I would also lie to express my appreciatio to the members of the NWC News Group who participated i the beta program. While I retai copyright, these fots are made freely available to all, without ay guaratee or warraty whatsoever. I accept o resposibility for how you use them or whatever your ultimate results may be. If you redistribute them they should be distributed as a complete set ad with this itro as i the origial zip file. If you create erivitave wor please let me ow. I hope you fid these fots useful, practical ad eoyable. If you do I would appreciate feedbac either via the Noteworthy Composer forum or private ews group. C'mo, massage my ego a bit :) Lawrie Pardy 2006/08/03
