Introduction of Mongolian Association of Urban Centers (MAUC) MAUC is a Non-Governmental Organization established in 2003 by the initiative of the Mayors of different-scaled (province or district centers) cities in Mongolia. The organization aims to improve the regulatory system of urban settlements as well as being a platform for sharing best practice and experiences through promoting urban development and good governance.

MAUC Line of activities The cities exchange the best experiences and practices. Supports and promotes the urban planning and development. Gives opportunity to exchange views and unify its voice of cities activities and problems. Connects Mongolian cities with foreign cities, donors and international organizations. To adapt new technologies from world wide cities and present and apply to public service Organizes trainings on institutional strengthening and capacity building for city mayors and administrative staffs.

Summary of accomplishes Organized a conference to cities mayors in collaboration with the Government once a year. Arranged a training about city cultures for 16 years old teenagers. Presented a prize to the best urban development in order to promote mayors of cities, investors and architectures. Street landscaping by the investment of Oyu Tolgoi, the biggest mining company.

MAUC Partnership Cabinet Secretariat of Government of Mongolia

MAUC has 33 member cities of 21 provinces of Mongolia. The city Ulaanbaatar is the biggest city of Mongolia. After this, according to the population density and numbers there are 2 biggest cities such as Darkhan city (there is the industry zone of agriculture and construction materials) and Erdenet city. MAUC member cities

Demographics and migration of Mongolia The number of population of Mongolia reached 2930.3 thousand at the end of 2013, increased by 62.5 thousand or 2.2 percent. The number of immigrants is 54.7 thousand and the number of emigrants is 56.0 at the end of 2013. From the data, 30.1 thousand immigrants or 55.1 percent came to the city of Ulaanbaatar.
