IEC 60598-2-22 (Standard for Luminaires for Emergency Lighting). To comply to EN 60598-2-22 22 (2008) EL-fittings have to guarantee reliable operation at T a =70 C fitting ambient temperature with half of the rated duration. 1. For the total measurement time at a fitting ambient temperature of T a = 70 C. 2. The Luminous flux shall not fall below 50 % in emergency case within half the rated duration eg e.g. 3h 15hor 1.5 1 h 30 min) Of main importance is the luminous flux at the beginning of emergency operation. This emergency luminous flux can be much smaller than 100% e.g.. Background: In EN 1838:2013 from Oct.13, the requirements of emergency lighting g were tightened. To make sure, that safety lighting complies to legal requirements, Emergency Lighting MUST be built, controlled and maintained acc. IEC 60598-2-22, EN 50172 and EN 62034. 1. Non dimmable OSRAM LED drivers in DC-operation typically have the same wattage like as AC-operation. More data see page 8. 2. Dimmable OSRAM LED drivers can detect DC voltage and run in DC-mode at 15% output current to reduce battery consumption. If a higher output current is required the default value can be adjusted via DALI Magic / Wizard. OSRAM LED DALI drivers are even designed for 100% DALI values, to guarantee reliable operation over the measurement time at fitting t a = 70 C. REMARK: to fulfill EN 60598-2-22, 22 (max. 50 % reduction permitted of luminous flux in EL case) we detail on page 4, right column operating max. power data, which has to be considered. OSRAM can onlygivedatafortheled-drivers. Due to that the IEC requires data in luminous flux (lm) the fitting maker has to validate his emergency fittings (influence of LED module and fitting construction).
