RESEARCH PROFILE Study of multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) as stationary phases for gas chromatographic separations and evaluation of their functionalization for selectivity tuning and resolution improvement; development of chromatographic methods using MWCNTs-based stationary phases for the analysis of actual samples; purification of commercial MWCNTs from metal impurities; study of adsorption and surface properties of pristine, purified and chemically-modified MWCNTs by inverse gas chromatography; synthesis of novel HPLC stationary phases by radiation-induced grafting of MWCNTs onto silica microspheres; use of (derivatized)mwcnts as solid-phase extraction sorbents for the determination of environmental pollutants.
