Dr. Sukanta Deb M.Sc, Ph.D in Physics (University of Delhi) 6 Other innovative projects undertaken/accomplished I have done a project titled Surface photometry of elliptical galaxies at Inter-University Center for Astronomy and Astrophysics (IUCAA), Pune (2007). I have developed a suite of IDL routines for visualization and animation of various physical phenomena using computer-based numerical methods. These animations based on IDL routines have been utilized in the class room teaching. I have developed a set of C++ and IDL routines to simulate quantum mechanical systems in order to determine their ground state energies using the Variational Monte Carlo technique. The work has been been accepted for publication in a refereed science education journal Resonance published by Indian Academy of Sciences, Bangalore. Mr. Aniruddha Dey (a former student of ANDC) has worked under my guidance in a astronomy project entitled Light Curve Modeling of Eclipsing Binary Stars using archival data (VLT/NASA s Kepler mission data). The work has been published in DU Journal of Undergraduate Research and Innovation" which is a refereed scientific journal.
