TRR & Telangana Agitation TRR' s family is involved in Telangana agitation since long. His grandfather Sri T Subhan Reddy had played a major and important role during the Telangana agitation in 1969. He lead the people from the front and took the agitation to a peak stage. Fearing the way he is taking the agitation forward, the then government arrested him near Pargi Tehsil office. Later Sri T Subhan Reddy was shifted to Musheerabad Jail. As long as Sri Subhan Reddy was in jail, a person by name Venkat Reddy belonging to Chitnala Village used to bring fruits to him. Such is the love and affection that he enjoyed from the people of Pargi constituency. Since he belongs to the biggest joint family, Sri Subhan Reddy used to donate land to the poor hailing from good families, dalits, people from backward classes and weaker sections. Grandfather' s life had influenced Dr. TRR very much. He continued from where his grandfather left. Though TRR was in Congress party, he had always stressed for separate Telangana state. Fast Unto Death ByTRR ForTelangana Dr. TRR' s fast unto death demanding separate statehood for Telangana created a sensation of sort in Pargi village and the surrounding areas. People from the neighbouring constituencies Sri T Subhan Reddy too expressed their solidarity to TRR' s fast unto death and volunteered their support. Students, employees, traders, business persons, lawyers, etc., have expressed their support to the fasting TRR. The fast continued for three days. On the third day, TRR refused to take even water and The Business Diary I TRR Supplement 24

TRR was forcibly shifted to hospital from the fasting venue. Even in the hospital he refused to take food. The hospital authorities put him on fluids as his sugar levels and BP dropped dangerously. continued his fast.with this, TRR had become very weak and his weight reduced by 10 kgs. BP too had come down. Doctors from the local government hospital came and said that his health condition is worsening and suggested that he be taken to hospital. Though the doctors plead with him and his colleagues in the party advised, he did not budge from his resolve. He expressed firmly that achieving a separate Telangana state only is important to him. However, on the third day, after midnight, police surrounded and shifted him to NIMS Hospital in Hyderabad. Even after he was admitted in hospital, he continued his fast. His wife Smt. Uma Reddy and son Sri T Rithik Reddy also participated in the fast in solidarity to TRR. Later, as his health condition was fast worsening, MLC Bhoopal Reddy, MLA Narsa Reddy, Indrasena Reddy and Maheswar Reddy convinced him to stop his fast. Relay Hunger Strike For 100 Days The hunger strike that TRR began was continued by his supporters even after he was forcibly shifted to hospital for 100 days.these relay hunger strikes were not restricted to Pargi only, but spread to Pooduru, Doma, Kulkacharla and Gandeed mandals. to the family of Uppari Ramesh, who committed suicide for the sake of Telangana state. He was instrumental and played a major role in making the ' Vidhyardhi Garjana' meeting in Osmania University a grand success. He orchestrated ' Telangana Dhoom Dham' in every mandal in Pargi Constituency to educate the people on the necessity for a separate Telangana statehood. He extended his support and solidarity to the Telangana Mps who sat on ' fast unto death' demanding the government to withdraw the cases that were strapped on all the students and Telangana supporters who participated in Telangana agitation. Explanation to Rahul' s Emissary Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi sent an emissary by name Amar Kale to Hyderabad to get first hand information on the actual situation in Andhra Pradesh. TRR met him at Gandhi Bhavan and explained him the prevailing situation. He told him that the Telangana state be created at the earliest as the feeling for the statehood had become Erection OfTelangana StateWelcome Board Under the able leadership of Dr.TRR the people of Pargi constituency took out a bike rally and had even put up a Telangana state welcome board at Chincholi in Tandoor constituency. He had The Business Diary I TRR Supplement 25

Victory Celebrations @ Pargi prominent. He made it clear to Sri Amar Kale that if the Congress has to get back its lost glory, creating separate Telangana state alone is the way out. Telangana Victory Celebrations In Pargi On A Grand Scale As soon as the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Bill (Telangana Bill) was passed in the Lok Sabha, Congress leaders and cadre under the aegis of PCC Secretary T Ram Mohan Reddy took out a massive rally from his residence A DREAM COME TRUE Jubiliation Echoed Across Pargi Constituency Under The Aegis Of TRR As The Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Bill Was Passed In the Parliament. A 60 Year Old Dream Of Telangana People Came True! through the main roads of Pargi in a jubiliant manner. He garlanded Dr. B R Ambedkar statue located at Mandal Centre. Later he garlanded former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi' s statue and raised slogans like ' Jai Congress Party' and ' Jai Telangana '. He expressed happiness over the formation of separate Telangana state. He said, The credit of creating a separate Telangana state goes to UPA Chairperson Smt. Sonia Gandhiji. She kept her promise and lived up to her assurance. The entire people of Telangana would be indebted to her, as she had made the 60 year old dream a reality. The Business Diary I TRR Supplement 26

The Minister on December 17, 2007 wrote to the Chief Engineer, Mahaboobnagar, to take necessary steps. This Rs. 150 crore, project is a reflection of the commitment of Dr. TRR. The people of the constituency are now enjoying drinking water along with irrigation water. GO According Administrative Sanction For CPWS Koil Sagar SurveyWorks Begin Scheme To 5 Mandals In Pargi Constituency The State government in an effort to quench the thirst of the people of Pargi constituency came out with a GO Rt.No: 1751, dated November 7, 2013, to allow officials to take up works worth Rs. 150 crores.
