The Norwegian national standard on geographic information - SOSI Started in 1984 NGU participation since 1991 in: SOSI WG 1 techniques, models and metadata SOSI WG 6 natural resources The SOSI feature catalogue contains 11 chapters with description on geosciences information

The SOSI-standard (the general feature catalogue) is translated into English http://www.statkart.no/nor/ SOSI/SOSI_English/

NGU partisipasjon in Internasjonal standardisation of geographic information and INSPIRE implementation rules ISO/TC-211 19115 Metadata with revisions 19128 Web Map Service (WMS) 19131 Data product spesification (DPS) 19136 Geography Markup Language (GML) 19146 Web Feature Service (WFS) 19157 Data Quality CEN/TC-287 WG 1 Spatial Data Infrastructure Subgruppe 1.1.2 Metadata Subgruppe 1.2.1 WMS INSPIRE (2005-2008) Drafting Team Metadata Impementation Rules INSPIRE TWG Geology and mineral resources EuroGeoSurvey INSPIRE working group

The Norwegian Spatial Data Infrastructure Norway digital Gives the public free access to Internet map services Distributed infrastructure Norway digital partners Free use of data Delivery services Unifying reference data and thematic data Partnership and joint venture funding Covers local, regional and national authorities Provide delivery services to non-partners - commercial - non-commercial

Main features of the Norwegian geoportal Catalogue services Metadata for datasets and databases Metadata for geospatial services National services from all main partners WMS, WFS +++ Reference data scales 1:5000 1: 5 mill. Thematic data Web services : addresses, place names, real estate etc. The portal is owned and maintained by Digital Norway partners
